As the Disney v. Charter conflict continues, some economic perspectives indicate a settlement will eventually be reached. Consider, the annual revenues to Disney from this deal approach $2.2 Billion a year (per Barron's). And the annual college sports rights deals across the country cost ESPN somewhere close to $2 Billion a year (per "On3" website). That's a big expense for ESPN, which will increase as college conference realignment occurs next year, with an expanded college football playoff. Disney needs to maximize revenues and eyeballs across all platforms to make the ad revenue equation efficient. Charter needs to burnish it's brand relationship with existing subscribers to limit churn. There will be a deal.

Movie theaters are constantly seeking new ways to attract customers and increase revenue. One exciting strategy is diversifying with a bowling component and creating a movie entertainment center (MEC). This combination offers several advantages: ▶️ Complementary Entertainment: Movies and bowling have different peak seasons, providing more consistent customer flow throughout the year. When one option is less busy, the other will likely thrive. ▶️ Enhanced Financial Returns: Including bowling in your entertainment mix is a proven strategy to boost profits. Moreover, it encourages guests to extend their stay, leading to increased spending on food and beverages. ▶️ Attracting Diverse Customers: MECs appeal to a broader range of customers, including families, couples, and groups of friends, expanding the target audience. ▶️ Increased Customer Dwell Time: Guests spending more extended periods at the facility typically lead to higher per-person revenue. For a successful integration of bowling into your cinema, meticulous planning and the right partners are essential. Opting for a seasoned bowling provider like Brunswick is a key step towards a seamless transition, top-notch equipment, and continuous support. If you're a cinema operator looking to stay competitive and boost your bottom line, consider adding bowling by Brunswick to your entertainment mix! #themedentertainment #lbe #imagineering #attentiontodetail Disney was once famous for attention to details in its theme parks. But speaking of that - do you know that actually foxes and elephants are believed to be red-green color blind? I think this could also lead to a to-be-or-not-to-be question - do you think theme parks are mainly built for hardcore fans (thus details are critical) or rather more for general guests (who in most cases appreciate more about the general feel instead of every little detail)?

When it comes to fandoms, there’s none quite as big or as fierce as Disney. But what is it about Disney that has such an enduring appeal for adults? For Disney’s 100th anniversary, our Senior Strategist Sophie Stucke spoke to Stylist Magazine about why this fandom is so compelling - especially now. After a number of challenging years (financially, economically, politically), we’re seeing a ‘pleasure revolution’ where people are prioritising things that bring them joy. More than half of UK consumers have said they plan to delay spending on big purchases in the next 12 months. Yet last year, when Disney+ put its prices up 38%, the platform retained 94% of its subscribers. Clearly, despite having to make cutbacks, people are loyal to Disney and the daily escapism it offers. Disney’s brand magic is that it sells a belief system, tapping into our need for joy and adventure, with a host of IYKYK signifiers that allow people to belong. Read more on the ins and outs of one of the world’s most famous fandoms below. #fandom #branding #disney
