I have a crazy idea. I will pay $100-$500 / hour to interview PMs from leading tech companies such as Google, Meta, Amazon, Airbnb, Canva, Uber, and Netflix. The goal is to understand how they really build products: - What works well? - What could be improved? - What company leaders don't mention publicly? About the initiative: - The interview will take an hour. - I guarantee you will stay anonymous. - I will pay for the interview right after the conversation (via PayPal). - I will write a post about your company only after interviewing at least three independent sources. Interested? Let me know, and I'll contact you by email, if you qualify: https://lnkd.in/dVA6EuDm (Collected emails will not be used for any other notifications)
Would love to read/listen to the output from that. Would be really cool if you could also drill a bit into the process they follow from ideation through delivery. I know meta for example does not use Jira. What does that workflow look like as an example. Hope you are able to connect with them and props for willingness to put the money into it.
Challenge: also look at other companies that aren't FAANG-esque that are delivering crazy awesome products. There's lots of fantastic PMs and orgs that are NOT massive corps. Just two cents for consideration!
So much interested in the insights from that! Open to buy some books or subscription! All the best!
This is what the business of expertise looks like! Wish you the best of luck on this quest.
Love that idea Paweł Huryn 🇺🇦, go for it!
Not saying it’s not a great idea, but if you subscribe to Lenny’s Podcast you have a database full of this kind of interviews with great Product leaders from said companies ( Google, Fb, OpenAI, Airbnb, Atlassian, etc): https://www.lennyspodcast.com/ This has been my favorite podcast for over a year now from when I discovered it (I’m not affiliated to it in any way)
What's with the 'MAANG-Star' fascination we all have when it comes to books and podcasts? If the majority of PMs are in much different settings, does this simply perpetuate the "Insta-Gramification" product peeps that John Cutler and Jason Knight have discussed and written about recently?
A nice spin might be comparing how teams work in the FAANG vs. how they work at smaller start-up organizations. There are probably ways to learn from both. Not everything is rosy with the big dawgs.
Paweł Huryn 🇺🇦 look here https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLrtCHHeadkHrIkSw0waA_S8p2G_lYxU_j&si=0QhGX5X3Y99wTCMP . The topic is a little different. but the point is that they interview product managers from different top companies. It is very interesting to listen to how they build their strategies and proposals for solving various problems. It is especially interesting for those who are currently actively looking for work.

1moThis is a great idea. Every time a process "leaked" from these companies someone wrote a book about this, but to have this combined and up-to-date would be extraordinary.
