A good comprehensive list. #11 gets ignored a lot. 11.) Focus on your “Sent-From” line. Small changes to a subject line can produce small improvements. Small changes to a sent-from line can make or break a newsletter entirely. The sent-from line is the first thing a reader reads. It’s big and bold above the subject line. The reader often decides the value of the email at the sent-from line before they get to the subject line — if they get to the subject line. Trust is the only thing that improves your sent-from line.

Stepping into the world of email newsletters feels a bit like becoming a maestro, orchestrating a symphony of words, images, and links. 🎼 Each newsletter is an opportunity to not only share news but to tell a story that captivates your subscriber's hearts and minds. But here's the thing: the magic doesn’t just happen. It's crafted. Think of your subject line as the headline act. It’s got to sing to stand out in a crowded inbox. Then, there’s the opening act - your introduction. Make it personal, like you're sharing a coffee and a good story with an old friend. 🤝 Balance is key. Mix updates with insights, and sprinkle in a dash of entertainment. It’s like curating an art gallery; every piece should evoke emotion, provoke thought, or inspire action. And don’t forget the call-to-action finale! A compelling closing can turn passive readers into active participants. Capturing the essence of your brand’s story in bite-sized, digestible newsletters is an art form of its own. Timing is, in fact, everything, and that’s especially true of newsletters. Send it too early and it’s likely to get mindlessly deleted along with a pile of other emails. Send it too late and they won’t devote their full attention to it because they just want to get out of the office and they’ve already mentally checked out for the day. Obviously, you can’t stalk every one of your newsletter subscribers to see what they’re doing and when they’re most receptive to opening your newsletter, but there are some things you can consider. #newsletter #emailmarketingtips

Your newsletter, email list, and subscribers are important. Honor their attention and time. Don't set expectations if you're not 100% sure if you can stick to them. If you're not sure if you can email once a week, don't say you can. You don't have to email your list with a newsletter once a week, there's no magic number. If it makes more sense, tell them you'll email once every 2 weeks. As long as it's consistent, and you tell subscribers upfront what to expect, they'll love you for it. If you send out newsletters on a monthly or quarterly basis, there’s probably a LOT that you want your readers to know. You have so many exciting things happening at your organization. But the danger of including too many updates, stories, and opportunities in your email is information overload. You run the risk of burying your most important piece of information. Your readers will get overwhelmed — and as a result, take nothing away from your email at all. Tell just one story, and include 2 to 4 pieces of information (not 24!). Your reader will be much more likely to absorb it.
