This month we launched a wonderful initiative with the team, an example of how brands can take steps towards a more sustainable future. It's been the product of many, many hours of work for lots of people in our Dove team and in the wider Unilever family, resolving challenge after challenge, from hand to hand, until today. As a global brand, we have a responsibility to take action, to drive meaningful change to restore nature’s real beauty. The Dove Nature Regeneration Project forms part of a collective effort to protect rainforests and restore rainforest ecosystems. In partnership with the Rimba Collective, Dove will help protect and restore 123,000 acres of rainforest – an area 8x the size of Manhattan – in Southeast Asia over five years. The Dove Nature Regeneration Project will also support local communities in forest frontier areas: - The Project aims to improve the livelihoods of 8,000 people in the region through job creation and increased access to healthcare, education, clean water, and sanitation. - Helping to protect and restore critical habitats for approximately 80 endangered wildlife species including the Sunda Pangolin and Helmeted Hornbill. Re-established forest cover will also reduce the impact of natural disasters such as flooding and landslides. Let’s care for the planet like we care for ourselves. https://lnkd.in/e63F99VC earthskin.dove.com Nathalia Amadeu Gabriella Laine Kirsten Collis Claire Linney Richard Carter-Hounslow Leandro Barreto Firdaous El Honsali Alessandro Manfredi #Dove #Nature #Regeneration #LetsChangeBeauty #UniquelyUnilever

World Rainforest Day🍃🌳 World Rainforest Day, observed annually on June 22nd, is a global initiative aimed at raising awareness about the importance of rainforests and advocating for their conservation and protection. Rainforests, often referred to as the "lungs of the Earth," are vital ecosystems that support a diverse array of plant and animal species, regulate the global climate, and provide essential ecosystem services to millions of people around the world. This day serves as a reminder of the urgent need to address the threats facing rainforests and take action to ensure their preservation for future generations. By working together to address the root causes of deforestation, promote sustainable land use practices, and support indigenous land rights and conservation initiatives, we can ensure that rainforests continue to thrive for generations to come. Together, we can protect Earth's lungs and secure a sustainable future for all. #SNRS #FAS #SUSL

🐟🌊 Today, on World Aquatic Animal Day, we recognize and commemorate the extraordinary diversity of life that lives in the seas, rivers, lakes, and streams around our globe. Aquatic species are essential to preserving the health and balance of our marine ecosystems, from magnificent whales and graceful dolphins to small seahorses and vibrant coral reefs. However, these amazing creatures face life-threatening difficulties. Many aquatic species are threatened with extinction due to factors like pollution, overfishing, habitat damage, and climate change. We run the risk of permanently losing these essential elements of the biodiversity of our world if we don't take immediate action and raise awareness. 🐬🌍 That's why events like World Aquatic Animal Day are so important. They serve as a powerful reminder of our responsibility to protect and conserve the oceans and their inhabitants. By raising awareness about the threats facing aquatic animals, we can inspire individuals, communities, and governments to take action and make a positive impact. Here are a few simple ways you can help: 1. Reduce your plastic consumption 2. Support sustainable seafood 3. Last Friday, on July 28th, we celebrated World Nature Conservation Day! This year's theme, “Forests and Livelihoods: Sustaining People and Planet,” highlights the vital role of forests in supporting human communities and the Earth's ecosystem. Let's also acknowledge the increasing impact of wild forest fires this year. These devastating fires have emphasized the urgency of protecting and preserving our natural habitats. To safeguard our forests, we must implement fuel management, create firebreaks, enhance early warning systems, educate communities, and use fire-resistant materials. Collaboration and post-fire restoration are vital too. Together, we can ensure a sustainable future. #WorldNatureConservationDay #ProtectOurForests #Conservation #Preservation #Forest #Environment

🌿 Join us in celebrating #WorldEnvironmentDay and our commitment to #GenerationRestoration! We're excited to share how our partnership with WeForest 🌿 is making a significant impact in protecting and restoring our planet's vital ecosystems. Through our collaboration with WeForest 🌿, we've successfully restored over 126 hectares of land, planting more than 210k trees across 379 diverse tree species, including 6 threatened species. These efforts not only contribute to the preservation of endangered wildlife, such as the Black Lion Tamarin and Jaguar, but also support the growth of 10 native species that benefit local ecosystems. To ensure the long-term survival of these trees, we actively engage and train local farmers, empowering them with sustainable livelihoods like agroforestry and beekeeping. By doing so, we are not only helping local communities earn a stable income but also inspiring them to become stewards of their forests for generations to come. Together with WeForest 🌿, we're creating a positive impact on wildlife, local communities, and the environment by protecting and expanding forests that play a crucial role in sequestering CO2 and mitigating climate change. Join us today and be a part of the solution! 🌿 #WhyWeInnovate

Look after our rivers! This is the message on World Rivers Day 2023 🌍 Rivers are literally the veins of our planet. Like the blood in our bodies, they carry life-giving nourishment to communities, wildlife and ecosystems. Similarly, if they become polluted, they carry these pollutants and toxins with them, potentially causing harm to those who depend on them. It is up to ALL of us to ensure that our rivers do not become polluted and to take rapid and decisive action to restore those that already have been. Advocating sustainable practices and good river stewardship needs to be at the pinnacle of our priorities for the effective conservation of our freshwater resources, not only for the benefit of people but for the protection of the world’s fragile biodiversity. 🐟🦆🦛 At our Greater Ukuwela Nature Reserve, we are privileged to be flanked by the ecologically rich Mzinene River, which flows into the expansive False Bay and St Lucia Lake systems. We will continue doing everything possible to protect it for a healthy and wild tomorrow. 🌿 #WildTomorrow #WorldRiversDay #ProtectOurRivers #RiverConservation #GenerationRestoration
