I am Ashika Tabassum an intern at Motion Cut. The task of week 2 was to make an image gallery using HTML, CSS and Javascript. This project has a view of how a simple gallery looks. It helps in showcasing my creativity and technical knowledge. An image gallery is a digital or physical collection of visual content. Discover Creative Careers - unexpectedly this got me emotional... 20 years ago I was in Year 11 - still with no real clue what I wanted to do with my life. I was obsessed with music and media. I had this idea of a job I would love...I wanted to be the person who puts music to sports montages, you know, post-match highlights. SO obsessed I was with this, I would create highlight montages of my NHL Ice Hockey game on the PS2, then run the visual AV leads into my VCR, and then split the audio off, and would hook up my HiFi...get it all cued up, and BAM hit record on the VCR. Then watch back at my creations for hours. I had tried a taster day at our local college for Graphic Design, but as we were seated in front of computers with Adobe Photoshop on, I felt so out of place. Everyone else seemed to have photoshop at home, I had never used it before. We weren't well-off at all, so there was no chance I would ever have it at home. I honestly felt embarrassed, there I was fiddling about with wires, into my VCR in my bedroom, when others cracking on with the latest software. I ended up flunking graphic design as a GCSE. So how bloody coincidental that today, I explored the Media Toolkit for Discover Creative Careers, that the first Video I look at, was someone with the EXACT job I had dreamt of two decades ago. We have such an important role to play in the Careers Industry, truly. Do not take it lightly. #careers #creativecareers #creativity #discovercreative
