Two of our Spark! Incubator associates who are interning at the Humane Society of Missouri worked with their media team last week to make a video showcasing one of their adoptable pups! 🐶 We are thankful for business partners who provide real-world learning opportunities for our program! Our pitch deck has been completed just in time for the pitchers of mulled wine to put us on the deck this festive period. 🎄 We've created many of these in various business capacities and learned to improve each time. We understand that we must clearly communicate the value in the first few lines, as investors' time is valuable. Shout out to the creators and community that have helped inspire us: Kiran Mehta, Phil McSweeney & Simon Penson. We have our new mics so the quality of our diary is improving. There may be some work to do around mic placement so Luke can compete with Jacobs' booming vocals but all in all, a pretty good start!

We're excited to have completed our pitch deck today and start sending it to the world. Having done a few of these in the past, we have honed our approach to ensure the value we offer is clear from the outset. With that in our locker and some shiny new mics helping us create daily diaries with clearer sound, I'd say it's a strong start to the week. Check it out and I'll catch you tomorrow! #vlog #cofounders #sustainablebusiness #circulareconomy #DOACF

We wanted to share another Cul2Vator’s story this week, Kaemon. “Having a place where you can show up and be yourself and be honest and be genuine and not be judged for that…I feel like that’s something most people don’t have, and Cul2vate is definitely that for that for a lot of people.” -Kaemon Please check out his story below. #cul2vate #growingfoodgrowingpeople

Last week, the Convex team attended the #DeveloperWeek2024 Conference and sponsored their Hackathon with two prize categories: the app with the best use of Convex and the app with the best use of Convex and AI. Miles Wiesenthal and his team created an app called Waffle, which won first place in the best use of Convex and AI category. Waffle takes on the classic chatroom that uses language models to embed messages and compute their similarity in real time using Convex's react synchronization. You can check out Waffle at: https://wafflechat.net Congrats, team Waffle! Want to build an AI app with Convex check out our templates gallery https://lnkd.in/ggQqHUEQ Join thousands of developers building on Convex in our Discord community https://lnkd.in/dEhfNKTb #hackathon #ai #backenddevelopment #chat #appdevelopment #database #backend #aiapplications #aichat
Proud to announce that my team's project, Waffle, won the DevWeek 2024 Hackathon prize for 𝐁𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐀𝐈 𝐀𝐩𝐩 𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐭 𝐨𝐧 Convex! You can play with Waffle now: https://wafflechat.net/ Waffle is a fun chatroom where you can see the entire conversation but stay tuned into the topics you are interested in! This is possible because the messages that are relevant to your own messages have larger font size. Check it out and you will see what I mean. It was great working with Luis Arevalo, Eli Richmond, and Lyne Tchapmi in a true hackathon fashion to build Waffle in-person in under 24 hours. Thanks to Arnold Trakhtenberg, Wayne Sutton, and James Cowling for showing us how to use Convex's database-to-user transactions and react hooks. I was impressed by how once we understood the pattern, everything we built with convex 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘦𝘥, with zero synchronization issues. We invest in extraordinary families, funds, and founders. Logistics venture capital, creating connective tissue between legacy industry families, funds and founders building the future.
The family office and the trucking company are independent. Trimac makes operational trucking decisions, and the family office makes all investment decisions. This is because we invest at pre-seed, seed, and A, and typically, corporates roll out at series C and later. The investments are only made for financial return; investment evaluation has no strategic component. Basic Clay Christiansen Innovators Dilemma.

Thank you InterGen for yet another enriching Wine Wednesday session where Jeffrey McCaig and Trevor Adey shared their inspiring journeys and insights into their work. Here are some highlights that resonated with me: 1. Jeff's remarkable family history and his relentless pursuit of knowledge, embracing new avenues along his educational journey. 2. The McCaig family's profound involvement in sports at various levels, advocating for equitable pathways for children to pursue their passions. 3. Exploring how Trimac and the transportation industry adapt to change and stay proactive rather than lagging behind. 4. Commendable investments by Trimac Transportation as LP in innovative ventures, broadening their access to knowledge and innovation. 5. Fascinating discussions on the future of the transportation industry, particularly regarding AI integration and advancements in vehicle technology. Excited for the 2024 Wine Wednesday sessions, anticipating diverse guest speakers, and reconnecting with our incredible community friends. Looking forward to more engaging conversations and insights ahead! 🍷✨ #Calgary #Alberta #Transportation #Innovation

One of my favorite Learning Experience Design assignments was converting Maja Watkins Social Emotional Improvisation videos into animated Vyond Videos! This project was fun because: 1) Working with Maja is always so fun! 2)Having a sit-down time to work through the design process of Vyond is always so cathartic, especially when I am doing it entirely by hand 3) We got to transition already created content into an animated experience, which made it easier for me to contextualize into a Vyond experience. While you're at it go follow Maja Watkins (one of our Integrate Trauma Informed Network Experts) and learn about her work teaching the world about social-emotional learning through improv. #SocialImpact #Vyond #EmotionalIntelligence

We mean business.
We've heard if you want to be taken seriously in the business world, you have to be comfortable making the hard sell. So we put together this super professional Cheeky IPA pitch deck to make sure we seal this deal. Funny business aside: beer and bog roll might not seem like the most obvious pairing. But two Aussie-founded B Corps who want to make the world a better place? Well, that just makes sense. Together with Heaps Normal, we're taking on the big guys and showing you can have a bunch of fun while delivering a seriously positive impact. https://www.cheekyipa.com/ #BCorpMonth #BCorp #marketing #impact

Neurodiversity professional. Speaker, Consultant, Mentor. Advocates for seeing people, not labels. Using education, awareness, acceptance and inclusion.
https://lnkd.in/etWMYwHB I'm speaking tomorrow night at the Birmingham Region Professional Speaking Association So why the link to Kermit the Frog singing the first song I ever remember making me sad? Well this is my introduction being used by the event host. 🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸 "It's not easy being green. Seems Kermit the frog knew how hard it was being "different". But for a estimated 15% of the UK different is something invisible to the naked eye that causes challenges that can seem impossible to understand. In the next 10 minutes Matt will not only explain what it really means but he'll leave you keen to keep learning more." 🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸 10 minutes to make an impact, deliver a messge that resonates and that makes people want to take action? How would you feel about that? Me? Just calm, ready and confident that my experience, knowledge and ability as a professional speaker means this will be a pleasure to do. It's not that easy being.... Neurodivergent But by spreading a message of education and insight. Using humour and emotion and never once blaming anyone else in for "making my life difficult" I know I'll succeed in my goal tomorrow night and every time I speak, train and consult. Just like Kermit didn't say it was Them vs Us, Non green vs green, it's not neurotypical vs neurodivergent either. My names Matt. I build relationships and communities. I don't blame people for things I find challenging. If that's the kind of speaker about Neurodivegent understanding you'd like to work with, click the button on my profile. For now, I'll see everyone attending tomorrow night. Saroj Bains - Sales Mastery for Tech Dave James Charlie Hart #NeurodiversityAwareness #neurodiversityawarenesstraining #ProfessionalSpeaker
