Sixty percent of all new European locker locations 2023 were established by SwipBox partners deploying Infinity lockers! This is the conclusion of a recent market study of the European parcel locker market covering SwipBox and direct competitors conducted by one of the top five impartial consultancy agencies in the world and aimed at SwipBox adressable European market. This number makes us quite proud and gives confidence that: · There is an enormous trend – maybe even stronger than we anticipated - in the shift from traditional lockers toward lean, battery-powered parcel lockers · People love the idea of a nearby locker, with end users across 15 partners globally now rating Infinity lockers 4.8 out of 5 when checking out · Our strategic SwipBox partners are the main drivers of nationwide parcel locker infrastructure in Europe What do you think? Will the ‘lean trend’ persist? Will we see other solutions? Will re-usable packaging be a apart of the locker eco-system going forward? What will be the ideal parcel pickup point in the future? Making Lockers Relevant 🟡 CEO and Founder of Parcel Locker Central 🟡 Independent Expert Smart Lockers / Last-Mile / AI 🟡 Board Advisor 🟡 Keynote Speaker 🟡 Photography Enthusiast
This is a statement I hear often: "Soon all the prominent locations will be covered with Parcel Lockers, and there will be no additional locations to expand." I find this perspective very shortsighted. E-commerce customers using Parcel Locker Delivery are not limited to those in big city centers. People living outside metropolitan areas also deserve competitive delivery services. Let's take an example from the Parcel Locker Central post I shared. Nõva is a small village 80 km away from the capital city, with a population of 105, according to Wikipedia. Nõva also acts as a regional center for the Lääne-Nigula Parish, which has a population of 6,900. There is one grocery store in Nõva within a tens of kilometers radius, so most households visit that store at least once a week. The Parcel Locker is conveniently located just around the parking lot. So, my question is: What is more sustainable—having a courier deliver all the parcels to individual households across the 1,449 km² area of Lääne-Nigula Parish? Or delivering parcels to a Parcel Locker that customers already visit weekly? Please consider this seriously before claiming that Home Delivery is the best, most sustainable, and cheapest delivery method in the universe. 📍 Did you find this post helpful? Parcel 🅻🅾🅲🅺🅴🆁 of the day! This is an Omniva Eesti Parcel Locker located in Nõva, Estonia. According to Wikipedia, the population of Nõva is 105. This information should help determine if there are viable locations for installing Parcel Lockers once the prime spots in capital cities are occupied. 🚀 With the COVID-19 pandemic, online shopping skyrocketed – and so did deliveries to parcel lockers. However, with parcel volumes dropping and investments slowing due to geopolitical turmoil, SwipBox and other locker companies faced a different market post-COVID. It therefore makes us extra proud that of the locker locations established in 2023*, 60% of them were established by SwipBox partners installing the battery-powered Infinity locker 🤩 Without our innovative partners we wouldn't be where we are today 👏 *Based on a third-party report covering lockers installed on the European locker market by SwipBox and direct competitors #parcellockers #leanlockers #partnerships

Parcel Lockers Face Uphill Battle in North America Andre Pharand, a senior executive and advisor in e-commerce fulfillment, urban logistics, and last-mile delivery, has highlighted the challenges of parcel locker adoption in North America compared to Europe. During the Parcel+Post Expo in Amsterdam in 2023, Pharand noted a significant presence of parcel locker vendors, with 23 companies showcasing their solutions. However, at the Home Delivery World USA event in Philadelphia, only three vendors were present. Pharand identifies three main reasons for the struggle: Home Delivery Economics: In the USA, home delivery success rates are above 98%, and innovative solutions like leaving parcels in safe locations and using video doorbells reduce the need for lockers. Urban Planning: The lower population density in American cities makes widespread locker implementation impractical. For example, a locker in Europe might serve 250 people within 100 meters, while in the USA, it might only serve 40. Customer Convenience: Consumers value home delivery for its convenience, and driving to a locker location undermines this benefit. Pharand concludes that while parcel lockers might be viable in specific contexts, such as university campuses and densely populated areas, they are unlikely to see the widespread adoption found in Europe. #Ecommerce #Logistics #ParcelLockers #HomeDelivery #UrbanPlanning

Would you buy a drive-thru only single tenant property? You’ve seen the coffee concepts like 7-Brew, Dutch Bros, and Scooter’s. Banks are testing drive-thru ATM only locations. Farm Stores is a drive-thru only grocery concept And of course there are endless QSR brands testing drive-thru only prototypes like McDonald’s, Taco Bell, and Jack in the Box. Why this new push? -Lower construction costs -Reduced overhead costs for the operator -Skyrocketing consumer demand for drive-thru convenience One concern has been the ability to re-tenant these small footprint locations should the tenant vacate. However, as the concepts that utilize this format expand it will become less of an issue. C-Store Drive-Thrus: I had the pleasure of being interviewed by Brett Dworksi of C-Store Dive, an online publication focused on the convenience store industry. We talked about drive-thrus. I don't post much on LinkedIn, but this gives you an idea of what I've been up to. BTW, C-Store Dive is a relatively new trade publication, but worth checking out. #retail_better #GSP #conveniencestores #convenienceretail #gspretail and #GoGators!
