Yesterday on Capital Hill I was visiting with senators and representatives to advocate for architects; here's what I learned.
Architects as a profession command immense respect.
In the hallowed halls of Congress, our impact, the creativity we unleash, and the spaces we transform are celebrated. Our profession is admired.
Wanna know why?
Here's my take.
Our profession meshes science, art, and culture into every design. We not only build buildings but design communities.
We don't merely draft plans; we manifest dreams. We don't just ensure structural stability; we facilitate human interaction. We are not just concerned about aesthetics; we prioritize sustainability.
Architecture has the power to mirror and mold society. It shapes our cities. It influences behaviors. It's an influential profession, and those on Capitol Hill recognize this.
They are listening to us and interested in partnering with us.
So, next time you glance at a building, remember it's not just a building.
It's an amalgamation of creativity, engineering, culture, and foresight—a testament to the architect behind it.
So, let's continue to uphold the prestige of our profession. Be bold. Be innovative. Future architects are counting on us.
