DOG WHISTLE~ Anti-racism 101 for “white” folks who are educating themselves:
Dog whistle= in political and cultural discourse are phrases or slogans that convey a particular message to a specific audience without being overtly obvious to others. It gives deniability so people who question may be more easily lead to believe the person just didn’t know what they were saying saying.
EXAMPLES:
~“Make America Great Again” = a coded message advocating for a return to a past where social hierarchies, especially around race and gender, were more pronounced. Simply put, this a dog whistle advocating for a return to when racism & bigotry were the unchallenged status quo under the law and “white” people could treat Black and brown people worse than animals and do so with impunity.
~"Law and Order": Historically used by politicians to signal a tough stance on crime, which often implicitly targets minority communities and signals support for strict policing and incarceration policies.
~"Welfare Queens": This term was popularized to criticize people who allegedly abuse the welfare system, often racially charged and implying that Black people are exploiting government assistance.
~"States' Rights": While on the surface, it advocates for the rights of individual states to govern themselves, it has historically been used to defend segregation and oppose civil rights legislation, an excuse for inhumane and barbaric laws.
~"Urban": Often used as a euphemism for Black or minoritized populations in cities, carrying negative connotations about crime and poverty.
~"Family Values": A term that can signal opposition to LGBTQ+ rights and a preference for traditional binary gender roles and heterosexual marriage.

You don't get to tell someone what THEIR experience is.
You don't get to decide they aren't discriminated against or treated differently.
You haven't lived their life.
You haven't felt their pain, their fear, their exhaustion.
So before you judge, before you dismiss someone's lived reality, take a big step back. Check that privilege you're wrapped in like a cozy blanket. The one you don't even notice because it's always been there.
Listen. Really listen. Not to respond, not to defend yourself. But to understand even a fraction of what it means to walk in shoes so different from your own.
We're all human. We all bleed, we all cry, we all hope. But our paths through this world are not the same. The ground isn't level. The obstacles aren't equal.
So next time you want to tell someone "it's not that bad" or "you're overreacting," bite your tongue. Open your heart. And try, even if it's hard, to imagine a mile in their shoes.
You might just find your own path forever changed.

I cannot comprehend why Trump supporters would ever, in a million years, support him to begin with. BUT when he tells us he’s going to end our democractic republic, AND they still support him, there are no words to describe how baffled I am. Then he outlines it point by point in what reads like a “white” supremacy manifesto and he STILL has support?? How could anyone choose to destroy our democratic republic? I thought it was sacred. I guess I was wrong. 😞

Trump claims to be so "PRO POLICE."
You’ll NEVER read about this in the right-tilted New York Post or hear about it on Fox "Entertainment" News Network, OAN or NewsMax …
the “truth” … it doesn’t fit their “narrative”.
From signs being waived by rabid Trump supporters at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, WI to the evidence-based examples of the direct testimony/words of Trump supporters at rallies and campaign events that we’ve covered and from Trump himself, it is safe to say that MAGA fanatics for the most part represent these empirical facts — even if they deny it.
They hold:
💥 Minorities and immigrants in great disdain, (to put it diplomatically).
💥 They exhibit and express overt xenophobia sentiments, (𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬).
💥 They express a clear and convincing Islamophobia (𝐚 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐥𝐢𝐦 𝐛𝐚𝐧).
💥 And they exhibit words and actions that prove their 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐠𝐲𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐬. (𝙏𝙧𝙪𝙢𝙥, “𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙝𝙖𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙗𝙚 𝙨𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙙 𝙤𝙛 𝙥𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙨𝙝𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙬𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙖𝙣 𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣”).
These empirical facts come directly from the expressed words of both Trump and Vance.
There is evidence (as mentioned above) that they hold women in contempt in general, but more specifically a woman having the right to make decisions about her own body and reproductive freedoms.
Oh, how Trump loves to “wrap himself up in the flag” and claim to love, love, LOVE the Police.
However, on January 6th, 2021, the evidence was crystal-clear and convincing on my TV — instead of “backing the blue” Trump lit the fuse, assembled the mob and directed the mob as they attacked the blue.
How do those facts align with his message of loving law enforcement?
They don’t!

Police: The Gatekeepers of Systemic Racism in the USA
The legacy of policing in America is marred by its origins in slave patrolling and its ongoing role in controlling Black bodies with impunity—resulting in harm, torment, and even murder. Why, in the 21st century, do we still have racist police officers committing heinous acts against Black people and facing no consequences?
The answer is both simple and deeply troubling: many “white” Americans have an ingrained attachment to “white” supremacy. This ideology is woven into the fabric of our society and forms a crucial part of “white” identity. Despite its detrimental effects, we cling to this lie, prioritizing it over truth and equity. It has been so normalized that some of us may be subconsciously unaware, although the truth is probably closer to us all being willfully ignorant… We want to feel “special” even if it means living a total and complete lie.
Why do we act against our own best interests just to ensure that Black people cannot thrive? Systemic racism ultimately harms everyone, including white people, yet we prefer to live this falsehood rather than treat our fellow humans with justice and respect. I guess is it’s our fragile ego. We could never be fair in equitable because that would mean we would have to come face-to-face with the fact that we are not superior. We simply can’t handle it.
The 'blue wall of silence' is a public secret in the United States. Everyone knows about police corruption, yet little is done to address it. While individual officers may not engage in racial discrimination, many stand by silently as their colleagues do, failing to intervene.
This situation is a glaring example of why policing in America needs to be dismantled and reimagined to serve all people equitably.
I hope this young man gets his day in court and sue the living crap out of the police agency that punched him in the face while he was cuffed and complying.
Instead of de-escalating, a situation that could’ve been handled professionally, the police officers decided to act like criminals.
We have to do better than this because this is shameful and makes police the real criminals.

Damn. A perfect example of how we just gotta take it and remain calm through the beating. I’ve had to do this several times before I becamea man. He should have all right to defend himself, but he must remain overtly peaceful.
LAPD at it again. They don’t want compliance they want subservience. They want us on our knees.

MARTIN NIEMÖLLER~ Martin Niemöller (1892–1984) was a prominent Lutheran pastor in Germany. In the 1920s and early 1930s, he sympathized with many Nazi ideas and supported radically right-wing political movements. But after Adolf Hitler came to power in 1933, Niemöller became an outspoken critic of Hitler’s interference in the Protestant Church. He spent the last eight years of Nazi rule, from 1937 to 1945, in Nazi prisons and concentration camps. Niemöller is perhaps best remembered for his postwar statement, which begins “First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out…”

Dear colleagues,
Facing challenges in discussing racial discrimination and misogyny in the workplace is a reality for many. Recently, a conversation on this important topic led to an interesting encounter. It highlighted the discomfort some feel when confronted with the truth.
Over the past decade, interactions like this have been a recurring theme. While the individual's response was presented in a mostly polite manner, the underlying message was clear. The phrase "keep it that way" sheds light on the reluctance to acknowledge and address systemic issues.
This encounter serves as a reminder of the work still needed to foster inclusivity and diversity in our professional environments. It's crucial to continue these conversations, even when they may be uncomfortable, to strive for a more equitable workplace for all. He didn’t have to look.

Voting against the best interest of your fellow humans is voting against yourself, too…

But for the rest of us… when everyone does well, we all do well…
