Design thinking is an iterative process that is used by teams to solve problems creatively. It is an approach where teams are encouraged to think outside the box, understand user needs and come up with innovative solutions. I have summed up the points of the Design Thinking framework in the Career Readiness Class - Design Thinking: Solving Problem Creatively held by GoTo Impact Foundation. The Design Thinking Framework has five steps, where each step is able to be done again, depends on the necessity. Those five steps are: 1. Empathize This initial step is to know more about the users. Here, we have to put user in the center and understand their problems on emotional and psychological level. Group interviews and empathy map are tools used in this step. However, avoid making assumptions before actually doing an interview to not be biased. 2. Define Problem statement is created in this step. Problems that are going to be solved must follow the prioritization matrix to ensure tasks done are important and impactful. 3. Ideate This is where the brainstorming happens. Creative ideas are compiled to breed innovations. 4. Prototype When ideas are gathered, they are turned into a model of a simpler version of the final product. It is not required to use complex tools, even pencil and paper can do. Remember, it needs to be simple! 5. Test Finally, after all the process is done, it needs to be ensured that the solutions we came up with is able to meet the customer's needs. I'm eager to use this framework to help my team and I solve problems creatively and to understand customer better! #GenerasiGIGIH #BergerakBerdampakBersama #FutureReadyTalent #YABB #GoToImpactFoundation

Hello everyone 👋, I'm thrilled to share my enlightening experience from participating in the Design Thinking class hosted in Generasi GIGIH 3.0 organized by GoTo Impact Foundation. Without delay, let's delve into this profound journey. To begin, let's unravel the concept of Design Thinking. Essentially, Design Thinking is a comprehensive framework that blends logic, imagination, intuition, and reasoning. Its core aim is to explore the realm of possibilities, leading to the creation of outcomes that truly benefit the end user. It's important to emphasize that Design Thinking is not just about finding solutions, but also about taking meaningful actions. Design Thinking unfolds in five iterative steps: Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test. The first step, Empathize, involves deeply understanding the user and the challenges they face. It's crucial to avoid making excessive assumptions during this phase and instead authentically visualize the user's experiences. Moving on to the Define phase, the goal is to precisely articulate user needs and problems, resulting in a clear problem statement. Striking the right balance between broadness and narrowness while keeping the user at the center is vital. Ideation comes after that, encouraging inventive thinking. This stage calls for unfiltered creativity as a range of ideas is generated. The Prototype phase then transforms these ideas into simple sketches or models. However, it's important not to overly complicate the prototypes at this stage, as simplicity often leads to the most insightful results. The final step, Test, is all about evaluating the viability of the proposed solution. This phase ensures that users can easily engage with the prototype and derive value from it. Remaining receptive to feedback is crucial here, as it sets the stage for refinement and improvement. In conclusion, the Design Thinking framework acts as a dynamic catalyst for innovation. It provides a structured yet flexible approach to problem-solving, consistently keeping the needs and experiences of end users in mind. Through empathy, creativity, and iterative testing, Design Thinking not only generates solutions but also fosters a mindset of continuous improvement. Reflecting on my journey through the Design Thinking class, I'm invigorated by the fresh perspective it has offered me. The ability to empathize deeply, think creatively, and iterate effectively are skills that extend well beyond the domain of design, influencing various aspects of life. #GenerasiGIGIH #BergerakBerdampakBersama #FutureReadyTalent #GoToImpactFoundation

✨Career Readiness Class: "Design Thinking: Solving Problem Creatively!"✨ Holaaa LinkedIn People!!🙌 Last week I attended the "Career Readiness" class by the GoTo Impact Foundation. I want to share the knowledge that I got during this lecture by Kak Aushi Ariana P. in the summary below. 💭 Design Thinking is a creative problem-solving approach that centers around the user. It involves gaining deep insights into user needs and expectations, coupled with iterative processes to design suitable solutions. This approach typically comprises five main stages: Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test. 1️⃣ Empathize: In this phase, teams strive to deeply understand user perspectives and needs. Observing and listening to users helps them empathize with their experiences and identify the challenges they face. We can use Group Interviews and Empathy Maps in this phase. 2️⃣ Define: After grasping user insights, the next step is to articulate the problems to be solved. Teams gather data and findings from the Empathize phase to refine and define the problems more precisely. We can use Storyboarding and Prioritization Matrix in this phase. 3️⃣ Ideate: In this stage, teams generate diverse creative ideas to address the defined problems. Encouraged to think outside the box, they produce as many potential solutions as possible. We can use Brainstorming and S.C.A.M.P.E.R. (Substitute, Combine, Adapt, Modify, Put to another use, Eliminate, and Reverse) in this phase. 4️⃣ Prototype: Ideas from the previous stage are translated into tangible prototypes. Prototypes can range from physical models to digital wireframes, or even interactive scenarios that help visualize solutions more realistically. In this phase, we can use pencil&paper, Miro, Figma, and other tools. 5️⃣ Test: Prototypes are tested with users to gather feedback. This feedback aids in identifying what works and what needs refinement or alteration. Testing is repeated iteratively until the right solution is found. In this phase, we can use Direct Feedback and Written Form. 🦖 Design Thinking encourages collaboration among diverse teams, including designers, developers, and other stakeholders. It emphasizes flexibility, exploration, and learning from mistakes. Proven effective in designing innovative products, services, and solutions, Design Thinking centers on user needs and experiences. #GenerasiGIGIH #BergerakBerdampakBersama #FutureReadyTalent #YABB #GoToImpactFoundation

[Reflective Essay - Design Thinking] Last Thursday (24/08/2023) at Generasi Gigih 3.0, I attended the Career Readiness session, "Design Thinking" delivered by Kak Vanka. Design Thinking is an approach for creative problem-solving. The Design Thinking framework is Design (to take action) + Thinking (to ponder and reconsider), so it will be focused on solutions and action-oriented. Design thinking will help us to think outside the box, create innovative solutions, create a solution that human-centered approach, and understand consumer needs. Then, what benefits of having design thinking? For business purposes, it will enhance customer experience and loyalty, impact society more, and have more creative ideas to solve the problem. Then for ourselves, it will deepen our relationship with users or customers, acquire a new thinking framework, and be more efficient. There are a couple of steps you can use to practice leveraging your sense of design thinking. 1. Empathize Knowing more about the users and the problems that they face, so we can understand users on emotional and psychological levels. You can use an empathy map or do group interviews. 2. Define Define user needs and problems. You can use a storyboarding and prioritization matrix. But beware of being too broad or narrow focus and not centered on users, these are common pitfalls. 3. Ideate Be creative when creating ideas and innovating solutions. You can brainstorming or SCAMPER technique. 4. Prototype Let's turn your idea into a model or sketch. It can be a scaled-down version of your final product. But beware of adding complexity and spending too much (either time, money, or effort). 5. Test The last step is to test your solution to ensure users or customers can utilize your prototype before moving forward. You can use direct feedback or written form to gather the results. That's it, I hope this reflection can give you an insight too. Thank you~ #GenerasiGIGIH #BergerakBerdampakBersama #FutureReadyTalent #YABB #GoToImpactFoundation

Hello everyone, I would like to share some experiences from a design thinking session. I learned about the Core Principles of Design Thinking. These principles include being human-centered, collaborative, iterative, experimental, optimistic, and empathetic. By applying these principles, we can enhance the quality and effectiveness of the solutions we create. Fundamentally, design thinking follows a framework: 1. Empathize with your users and understand the target audience. 2. Define problems and needs based on your own insights. 3. Ideate innovative solutions while eliminating assumptions. 4. Prototype your ideas and create potential solutions. 5. Test your ideas and gather feedback from your target audience. The aforementioned design thinking framework begins with empathizing with users to gain a deep understanding of their needs and experiences. This is followed by defining the core problems without making assumptions. Ideation encourages creative brainstorming, and prototyping transforms ideas into tangible representations for testing. Finally, testing involves seeking feedback from users, which guides refinements. The process is iterative and emphasizes empathy, creativity, and collaboration, ultimately leading to innovative solutions that genuinely address user needs. I gained a lot of valuable insights from this session, and I hope to apply the knowledge of design thinking when I need to create something that serves the users' needs. #GenerasiGIGIH #BergerakBerdampakBersama #FutureReadyTalent #YABB #GoToImpactFoundation
