India has minted a class of confident and persistent #entrepreneurs with a conviction to be the best in their space globally. It is these entrepreneurs who are building the New India and attracting Indian and foreign capital and markets. Their #innovations are not only transforming industries but also uplifting communities by creating jobs and accelerating economic growth. These startups are solving real-world problems, from #healthcare and #education to #agriculture and finance, showcasing India's potential on the world stage. Kudos to such brilliant minds who are working for a change!

With India witnessing an evolving landscape of #investment opportunities, certain sectors have become focal points for #investors. Emerging sectors have been capturing investors' attention due to increasing digital adoption. #Healthtech and #biotech are gaining interest with #innovations such as precision medicine and robotic surgery, which promise personalised and efficient patient care. #Agritech is transforming India's agriculture by integrating modern #technology, enhancing crop yields and #sustainability. The rise of #AI and #GenAI has accelerated innovation in #edtech, with a focus on skill upgrading to prepare the workforce for a digital future. These developments underscore the business importance of staying abreast of technological advancements.

Thank you, Indian Venture and Alternate Capital Association (IVCA), for facilitating a much-needed discussion on the #Budget expectations of PE-VCs. A uniform #taxation system for listed and unlisted securities has been a boiling issue for a long time now. Regulators and the Central Board Of Direct Taxes, Ministry Of Finance have their own good reasons for the same.  However, from the point of view of a VC or even a growth-stage #investor, there are a few factors that we need to consider to understand why rationalisation and bringing unlisted at par with publicly listed securities are necessary.  One, unlisted security #investors are not asking for a #subsidy or anything more than what publicly listed ones ask for. It’s very important to note that these investors are taking much higher risks than publicly listed securities. They are also grappling with less data than what publicly listed stock allows one to get. All that risk that is being taken is being undermined by the higher taxation levied. This is a crucial concern, as from a #growth perspective, these are the #investments that are actually creating #jobs, and opportunities, bringing in and building IP, and taking the entire industry step by step to the next level. https://lnkd.in/gez9DJYd

Looking forward to boosting India’s vibrant #venturecapital ecosystem as part of Indian Venture and Alternate Capital Association (IVCA)’s VC Council for 2024–26! The Indian VC ecosystem has proliferated in the last decade. It’s a golden era for Indian #entrepreneurship, and the more we foster domestic capital pools, the farther #India will be able to advance in the global economic arena.
