The National Safety Council, in collaboration with NIOSH and the CDC, has declared June as the month to put an extra emphasis on the importance of workplace safety. The themes this year include Safety Engagement, Roadway Safety, Risk Reduction, and Slips, Trips and Falls. #SafetyIsPersonal

June is National Safety Month, and ESP and our subsidiaries are joining the National Safety Council in advocating for increased safety practices, from the workplace to anyplace. That's why we’re proud to join the National Safety Council in raising awareness of workplace safety in the coming weeks. This week’s theme is Safety Engagement. Statistics show that employees who are engaged in a safety program decrease their risk for injury. One major element of engagement is reporting hazards and near misses—the more these dangers are addressed, the better working conditions will be. How We Engage at RK 💪 Submitting a Safety Observation Report (SOR) is one of the many ways we encourage participation in our safety program. These reports allow our employees to document hazards and track the safe acts of their fellow teammates. This feature can be accessed simply by scanning a QR code, which ensures our reporting capabilities are available no matter where our employees are. RK also empowers our employees with “Stop Work Authority,” allowing anyone who identifies a safety concern to halt work until the issue is resolved. Safety in the workplace is something that should never be taken for granted. Each month, I spotlight moments at Madison Air that are devoted to safety – all for the purpose of emphasizing how crucial it is to build a culture of safety. I want our employees to know that we have their back by encouraging safe work environments and consistently pressing forward on further progress. Recently, I chose to highlight Nortek Air Solutions, LLC-Montreal’s approach to safety, thanks to its innovative safety programs. For three consecutive years, the company has been recognizing team members who propose effective safety measures across various departments, from office spaces to the plant floor. This system has produced tremendous results.   We also formed a Safety Ambassador Team to champion greater safety at our plants. The outcome has been remarkable. By consistently reviewing, assessing, and implementing new procedures, the dynamic teams at work in our facilities are helping to keep our entrepreneurs informed and vigilant.   As we kick off North American Occupational Health and Safety Week, it’s an opportune time to share these stories as a reminder that safety should not just be a priority, but rather an integral part of a company’s culture.
