In business (or every aspect of life), I always try to surround myself with people who communicate directly and let you know what they see. If you're ever looking for someone who will be completely straight with you, my latest guest, Valentina G., is one of the best at "radical candor." Valentina is an expert at combining an analytical outlook with best people practices to drive cultural change at EVERY company she has worked at. From working at Deloitte, Bridgewater, Chewy, and now at Garner Health as their Chief People Officer, she has so much insight to share. Garner Health is one of the fastest-growing health-tech companies in the country and with help from Valentina, they have been recognized as one of THE best companies for company culture. Valentina is fantastic at fostering community, so it's no wonder she was featured this year in Forbes, discussing how to build a better employee experience. She is also a pro at developing teams and a huge proponent of radical candor. She's a straight shooter - and that's evidenced when I ask her to give me live feedback on my interviewing skills. 😂 We covered so much in this episode of Hire Learning and I'm so glad Valentina was able to come on the show. Check it out when it goes live on Wednesday!

Equipping Scaleup leaders with high-performing teams and a high quality of life | Ex NZ Rugby & UK Special Forces (civi)
Do you ever feel like companies say all the right things, but don't walk the walk? Brad Mooar describes them as 'part-time' or 'front-foot' values. "The values that are on the wall, but they're just not lived all the time." "When you’re going forwards it's great. But they're really, really critical in times of challenge." Brad and the All Blacks understand the importance of 'full time' values. The behaviours that teams or companies must demonstrate in order to live by the values they espouse. But how can you create this? In the most recent Elite Team Talks episode, Brad explains how the All Blacks create full-time, not part-time, values. But with a global, connected workforce, and competition for talent at an all time high, how can companies create resilient teams who live by the values they espouse when the going get's tough, rather than jumping ship? How do you prevent values from simply becoming words on the wall? According to Brad, it often requires teams and companies to define the behaviours that align with these values. And to turn these behaviours into the standards expected. So how do you role model 'full time values' when the going get's tough? With 'job hopping' at an all time, your team's or company's success might just depend on it.

We are LIVE with Natalie Phillips-Mason talking 'The Search for Purpose' at work! In this episode we explore how to find purpose in the mundane, the factors that influence your sense of purpose and how to identify what your purpose truly is. Natalie Phillips-Mason has extensive experience as a change management practitioner. Spending the early years of her career in a large consulting firm, Natalie understands the 'purpose gap' many young women feel in the formative years of their career. Natalie is a later-in-life advocate for neuroinclusion born out of her lived experience as a parent and member of a mixed neurotype family. Her life and work experience to date led her to launch Inclusive Change, a change management consultancy with a focus on building neuro-inclusive workplaces and customer experiences. It's easy to assume that certain lines of work must induce a natural sense of purpose. While that may be true for some, most of us are on a continual journey of self-discovery, navigating what feels purposeful and trying to make sense of it all. If you've ever questioned whether a lack of purpose is a red flag or perhaps you need practical tools to cultivate a greater sense of purpose, this episode is for you!
