Did you know? It takes approximately 1.39 liters of water to produce a 1-liter plastic water bottle. This figure includes water used in both the production of the plastic bottle itself and the bottling process, where the majority of water is consumed. The bottled water industry relies heavily on water resources, leading to excessive water waste during manufacturing. Here are some tips to help conserve water: opt for reusable water bottles that have a longer lifespan than plastic ones. Reusable bottles are less likely to be discarded, given that the prolonged use of plastic bottles can lead to plastic breakdown, potentially harboring bacteria and posing health risks. Additionally, consider installing a home water filtration system and recycling your bottles whenever possible. Let's rethink our water consumption habits and work towards a more sustainable future. #water #sustainability #plastic #conservation

#Move away from Plastic Water Bottles 1. The water bottling process releases 2.5 million tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere annually. 2. Around 1.3 billion plastic water bottles used worldwide every day and it uses more than 3800 tons plastic on single day. However, only 12% of these bottles are recycled. 3. Though Water Bottle industry creates jobs and good for economy but it polluts ocean and kills marine life so adversely affecting tourism and fishing communities. 4. As per study, both temperature and amount of time that bottled water is stored increases the breakdown of chemical bonds and harmful chemicals can leach into water. 5. Its less expensive to carry your own water in reusable bottles than to buy it. Its good for your health too. The Hidden Costs of Storing Water in Plastic Bottles During Cold Spells … As winter approaches, it's important to discuss why storing water in plastic bottles can be more harmful than helpful. When water freezes, it expands, and this isn't just a problem for the integrity of the bottle but also for the quality of the water. When plastic is subjected to cold temperatures, it can become brittle and prone to cracking, potentially leading to leaks. But the more pressing issue is the leaching of chemicals. Cold temperatures can cause certain plastics to release chemicals like BPA into the water, which can be harmful to our health. Moreover, as the plastic breaks down, it can release microplastics into the water, which are not only a concern for human consumption but also for wildlife if the bottles end up in natural habitats. It's a timely reminder to consider more sustainable and safer water storage options, especially as we head into the colder months. It’s time to HYDR8 better! #plasticfree #sustainable #water
