Launched in 2017, MasterSeal 7000 CR offers a new way to renew wastewater tanks. Based on our own Xolutec technology, the innovation found in MasterSeal 7000 CR lies in its combination of crack-bridging properties with the level of chemical resistance required in each stage of the current processes of treating urban wastewater. Its novel resin technology gives it a high tolerance to moisture so that it can be applied on very damp substrates by spray or roller providing a quick curing system. Interesting. Fungi could be part of the solution to flammable cladding. If this research becomes commercial reality, buildings could be much, much safer. Surely, anything's got to be better than the ACP product with a polyethylene at its core that has been put on so many buildings across the world. I am happy to introduce a new publication: https://rdcu.be/dt8DY The paper still derives from the very fruitful cooperation between colleagues of the University of Padova (Department of Industrial Engineering, CerAMglass group [https://lnkd.in/dTvdnm9G]) and colleagues from the FunGlass centre of the Alexander Dubcek University of Trencin, in the framework of the FunGlass project [H2020-WIDESPREAD-01-2016-2017-TeamingPhase2, project number 739566 - https://www.funglass.eu/]. For the sake of international cooperation, however, significant input came also from Dr. Stabile, from National University of La Plata and CETMIC (Argentina). Again, we are discussing the quite particular effects of alkali activation of fine glass particles. In this case, applied twice. One as preliminary treatment of powders, before flame spheroidization. One as a way to determine the cold consolidation of porous spheres, with the manufacturing of pellets. Porous microspheres can be used as fillers (see https://lnkd.in/d5B9CYTY) in cold consolidated 3D-printed scaffolds; in the present case, the cold consolidation involves only microspheres. Like 3D-printed scaffolds, pellets are suggested as tools for wastewater remediation. We are not tired of using waste (=waste glass, from fibre manufacturing) used to combat waste (=wastewaters)!
