In order to stay updated, Normpack regularly attends conferences regarding the FCM topic. Recently Hans Steijer attended a conference hosted by ISEGA, a few of his take home messages were as follows: 🔹 There is an increased interest in using cellophane as a FCM due to claims of it being more environmentally friendly. But this might be misleading since cellophane products often consists of several layers, some of less environmentally friendly character. 🔹 An interesting project i ongoing at Technische Universität Darmstadt where migration from paper and board is being analysed. The aim is to develop better methods for assessing migration. 🔹 Bisphenol A, cyclosiloxanes, PFAS and styrene are substances (or group of substances) seen as critical to control when it comes to the safety of FCM. #Normpack #FCM #Legislation #Livsmedelssäkerhet #Kontaktmaterial

What a classic perspective!!! I highly recommend it to all who want to understand this concept and apply it for agro-environmental applications!!

A great explainer of biochar and why it is one of the best carbon sequestration opportunities out there (not to mention its durability and all of the cobenefits of its application). I've recently heard of some sensor technologies that are being paired with an app that will let you quantify the carbon captured in your biochar project, which is very exciting for those of us doing the work. I'm looking forward to seeing this climate solution scale.
