In recent times, Manipur has been plagued by violence, riots, and social unrest, causing immense pain and suffering to its innocent citizens. Amidst this turmoil, there have been shocking incidents, such as the appalling act of parading two women naked by a mob, which shook the nation to its core. However, what adds an extra layer of shame and disappointment to these troubling events is the unfortunate fact that some women are actively obstructing the operations of the Indian Army in Manipur.
It is essential to recognize that the Indian Army's primary objective is to protect the sovereignty and unity of our nation, ensuring the safety of all its citizens, irrespective of their gender. Yet, in the midst of chaos and violence, there are instances where women are siding with the rioters and perpetrators of heinous crimes instead of supporting their fellow women who have fallen victim to these acts.
This behavior is not only shameful but also deeply pitiful, as it undermines the very essence of sisterhood and solidarity that women around the world have fought tirelessly to build. We live in an era where women have made significant strides in various fields, breaking barriers and pushing for gender equality. However, when some women choose to stand against justice and support those who commit such deplorable acts, it is a blow to the collective efforts of countless others who strive for a better, more just society.
Instead of standing united in the face of adversity, we witness a betrayal of trust, where women shield the perpetrators from accountability, hindering the efforts of law enforcement agencies to bring them to justice. By doing so, they inadvertently perpetuate a cycle of violence and injustice that will only continue to harm not just women but all members of society.
Let us not allow the actions of a few to overshadow the courage and resilience of countless brave women who have fought for justice and equality.
I pray for better circumstances where women can count on each other for support and protection in times of need.

The history of India's freedom struggle would be inadequate without acknowledging the invaluable contributions and sacrifices made by women, as they rightfully hold an indelible place in shaping the movement. However, their importance is sometimes overlooked.
When the majority of male freedom fighters were imprisoned, women stepped forward and assumed leadership in the struggle for independence. Their contributions ranged from leading movements, organizing protests, advocating for social and political reforms, writing, and even participating in armed resistance.
Women played a vital role in motivating and gathering people, spreading knowledge, and standing against oppressive British rule. Their active involvement and willingness to make sacrifices established the groundwork for a more inclusive and independent India.
