Last week Munich was the place to be for all sun enthusiasts as the sun made a timely appearance for the 'Intersolar Europe' conference. After attending the '2nd Solar Energy Storage Future Germany 2024' conference Imre Vass, Simon Nørgaard and Philipp Köhler all had the pleasure of spending the remaining week at Intersolar in Munich. Besides the great atmosphere and sunny weather Imre, Simon and Philipp also enjoyed many fruitful conversations with industrial peers and partners. Among the hottest 🌞 topics were: 🌞 Increasing solar penetration is putting more and more pressure on the capture rate, which makes it challenging for developers to achieve a sufficient PPA-price. With our market presence and experience we are structuring and negotiating PPAs for our partners that are appropriate for both producers and offtakers. 🌞 Diversification of markets is becoming more important for many actors in the industry - especially Eastern Europe shows a high potential. ONE's local presence and knowledge in Eastern Europe enables us to support our clients by exploring new markets in Eastern Europe and beyond. 🌞 To manage the increasing volatility and to contribute to more stability in the grid, batteries are key. Either Hybrid PPA, ancillary services or short-term optimization - the potential is huge. We are happy to discuss the best commercial solution for your storage with you. Please feel free to reach out to Imre, Simon or Philipp if you'd like to discuss these topics any further. #OurNewEnergy #IntersolarEurope #IntersolarEurope2024 #Munich #SolarIndustry #EnergyMarket #RenewableEnergy #PPA #Networking

Congratulations to Foivos Maniatis and Ignacio Moreno Roche on winning the Nordic Energy Challenge 2023! Their proposal “Heraclitus2” was selected by the jury with the following motivation: "The winning proposal manifests an essential solution for making the Nordic energy system more resilient, using an innovative software algorithm that can enable smart and flexible operation of hydrogen microgrids to meet the future energy demands of, e.g., remote communities in the region. Foivos and Ignacio underline argumentatively how their solution can strengthen local and regional security through stabilising national power grids, extending the reliance on decentralised energy production and increasing regional self-sufficiency by utilising the Nordic renewable energy sources to a greater extent. In addition, the solution is already being tested as a demonstration project in Norway, underlining its demand and feasibility. We look forward to following up on the development of this exciting proposal, which, in addition, can add more value by making the consumers become prosumers." Nordic Energy Research would like to thank all applicants for participating in the Nordic Energy Challenge and wish them the best of luck in future commitments! Recap of the Conference Session | Addressing the Challenges of Europe's Solar & Storage Boom at KEY 🌞🔋 We would like to thank 🙏 KEY - The Energy Transition Expo for hosting our Conference in Rimini today. 🙏 Saif Islam, Dirk Kaisers, Filip Sypko, Jim Chen, Emilio Manzoni, Petra Zelenická, Edoardo Pulvirenti, Giovanni Buogo, Jacky huang, Dr. Lin ZeBo and Andrea Tedesco for their valuable expert insights. 🙏 Daniel Fuchs, Chief Customer Officer at EUPD Research Energy, for moderating our energizing conference and representing our companies at this successful trade show. Here are some key takeaways from the event: ✅️ 2023 was another record year for the EU-27 PV installations with the market installing a total of around 59 GWdc, leading to a YoY growth of 44%. This record number can mainly be attributed to comparatively higher energy prices and the EU member states to reach their climate targets. ✅️ Germany followed by Spain, and Italy, were the top 3 PV markets in the European Union in 2023 with total newly installed capacity of ~27.6 GWdc injust these three markets (47% of the EU market in 2023). ✅️ The top five leading countries, Germany, Spain, Italy, Poland and the Netherlands, have installed ~36 GWdc in 2023. This accounts for a substantial 62% of the total capacity in 2023. ✅️ The Netherlands boasted the highest PV capacity per capita in the EU-27 states, standing at 1,318 watts. Germany, Luxembourg, and Spain followed closely in the rankings. Let's keep driving the energy transition ahead! 💪 #Event #KEY #EnergyTransition #RenewableEnergy #Italy

It takes 100,000 TWh to electrify the world. Currently around 3,000 TWh is produced by wind and solar, so we need 30x to reach 100%, according to Henrik Stiesdal in his closing statement of todays conference #FremdtidensEuropæiskeEnergipolitik. According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), wave energy has a potential of about 29,500 TWh. Wave energy thereby has the potential to fill part of the void that still exist. We at Wavepiston Bring Wave Energy to the World. Good discussions about the need for electrification and EU’s trilemma: green transition (#GreenDeal), energy security (#RepowerEU) and competitiveness in manufacturing and supply chain (#NetzeroIndustryAct). But besides all the good plans there is also a big demand for implementation power. Thank you for a great conference, Danish Industry Tænketanken EUROPA Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners Green Power Denmark Ps: blown away by todays moderator: Lykke Friis. Knowledgeable and quick witted!

The energy landscape in Italy is about to explode, and if you're a financial player or a developer, you don't want to miss the (proverbial) boat. Terna SpA, the nation's electric grid system and transmission operator, predicts that Italy will need 15GW of total capacity by 2030, of which 9GW/71GWh needs to be LDES. And, after the official EU approval (back in December 2023) of Italy's €17.7 billion state aid for this large-scale energy storage rollout, the future looks brighter than ever. This is a hot topic right now, and unlocking this huge opportunity comes with some unknowns and questions needing sound, intelligent and well-informed answers, such as: "Where are the most favourable market conditions?"; "How will opening up new markets for batteries such as frequency response help drive deployment?" or "What are the expected long-duration energy storage mechanisms appearing in Italy?" and others. Well, we can confidently say that Energy Dome has some great answers… Our COO - Energy Storage as a Service, Ben Potter, will be in London on 20-21 February at the Energy Storage Summit - London (Novotel London West) organised by Energy-Storage.news / Solar Media Limited to debate these and other intriguing topics in a panel aptly titled: "Unlocking Opportunities in Italy's Energy Storage Landscape", which will take place on 20 February at 14.40. During the panel, Ben will also explain in detail why our technology (i.e. the CO2 Battery) is eligible for the LDES Italian auction and very well positioned in terms of competitiveness and technical benefits; he'll also talk about our first-of-a-kind 20MW-200MWh CO2 Battery that'll reach COD in Q3 2024. So, next week, come down to the Energy Storage Summit - London to learn more about the future of the Italian Energy landscape, Energy Dome's offering and the trailblazing parts they're playing in long-duration energy storage. #EnergyDome #OurWorldCantWait #sustainability #longdurationenergystorage #innovation #CO2Battery #decarbonization #LDES #renewables
