In the midst of sleepless nights and the upheaval of the pandemic in 2020, I found myself propelled by a passion for style and a desire to empower others. Thus, GUSH HAIR extensions came to life, with a mission to instill newfound confidence in women worldwide. Statistics reveal a startling reality: 12 percent of women experience abnormal hair loss by age 30, a figure only exacerbated by the stressors of modern life and the COVID-19 pandemic. Recognizing this, I set out to create a solution that not only addresses physical appearance but also nurtures inner confidence. The growth of GUSH has been nothing short of phenomenal, with a remarkable 20X year-over-year increase in revenue and sales. From delivering to over 200+ cities across 12 States to building a loyal clientele of over 3,000 individuals in just three years, every milestone underscores our commitment to empowering women to stand out. During the pandemic, we pivoted, conducting over 200 virtual trial sessions to provide indoor confidence to our clients. Because a hairstyle isn't just about how you look—it's about how you feel. By offering accessibility and convenience without compromising quality, we've become more than a brand; we're a partner in self-expression and empowerment. The hair extension industry's projected CAGR of 8.87% from 2024-2028 underscores the burgeoning demand for products that facilitate self-expression and confidence. In the fall of 2010, Colleen was diagnosed with breast cancer. While going through treatment and recovery, Colleen struggled to find clothing that was easy to slip on and off, comfortable to wear, looked good on, and fit in with her everyday style. At the same time, Colleen came to the realization that she didn’t want to continue down the same career path of being a Chartered Professional Accountant and VP of Finance so she took a leap of faith, and hence, COKANNA was born. Colleen wanted there to be more options in the marketplace so you don’t have to sacrifice quality or style at a difficult time in your life. Colleen wanted to give back to the community that helped her through her cancer experience by making women’s lives just a little bit easier and supporting breast cancer organizations and services that help the “person” living with the disease. Even though Colleen started out designing for women who have breast cancer and other health and mobility issues she found that many of her customers were women who just want comfort and style. Since then Colleen's line has evolved. It’s all about slow fashion: taking her time to develop well-thought-out designs, listening to her customers’ wants and needs, and sticking to her core value of 100% Canadian-made. One of the things that I love doing when I travel is looking at the commercials from that country. Today, I saw one from Pepper a brand that produces bras for women with small chests. It caught my attention immediately because they followed a super clear structure: 👉They started with a common problem women with small chests face: gaps. 👉They showcased many women with this issue. 👉They compared usual bras to Pepper's bras, listing all the benefits. 👉They closed with a clear USP: "The bra reinvented for small chests." I will link the commercial in the first comment. Oh, and when I checked their website, the product photos continue to emphasize what normal, small chests look like and highlight the differences between breast sizes. #entrepreneurship #marketing #advertising
