Navigating the vast world of digital commerce, I've seen firsthand the hurdles small businesses face, especially in emerging markets. It's a competitive arena dominated by tech giants, where visibility can be a struggle for the underdog. My latest Forbes piece (link in the comments) sheds light on this challenge, inspired by insights and real-world examples that highlight the disparity. But here's the heartbeat of my message: Hope. Thanks to open commerce platforms, like the ones championed by Justin Floyd at RedCloud, there's a shift towards a more inclusive digital marketplace. 2023 was the year we established Partner Fleet as a true player in the partner ecosystem tech stack. Until recently, only elite software companies with deep pockets could pursue the ecosystem business model and gain the unfair advantages it offers. The barriers to entry were too high for most. We're democratizing access so more companies can create growth flywheels by building ecosystems and representing them through their marketplaces. Key stats in 2023 compared to 2022: - 7x traffic to our customers’ marketplaces from 2022 - 8.6x increase in leads generated on customer marketplaces - Grew to 3,000 marketplace listings in our network - 3.2x increase in partner users on Partner Fleet - We 3x'd our ARR and 2x'd our customer count - Launched 132 new features Proud of our team for believing in this mission and rallying to help our customers make it a reality. Some takeaways: Some recurring themes from the past decade on: Retention of early stage talent, procurement, attracting Venture Capital that values the made in 🇨🇦/acc brand. Still appears to also be a schism between the Government, Legacy Corporations and modern tech. Had a great informative session /w Hemant Mohapatra, Prateek Raj, and Rohil Bagga from the LightSpeed team, worth getting up at 06:30 am. As my third time attending and I love the format. The core idea being that it is very difficult to trust people with information of what isn't working in your company. Met a lot of great folks with a lot of synergy and got great insights into my current question: How do you maximise your first US tech event, what is a realistic outcome and what are some anecdotes of the best possible outcomes?
