Creative Chairman at Pereira O'Dell, Chief Creative Officer at Serviceplan Americas, Founder at Silverside AI, Author The Girl from Wudang, board member at The AdCouncil and The One Club for Creativity
Contrary to our literary predictions, robots came after the creative jobs first. The sad part: AI will severely reduce the need for a lot of people in a lot of creative professions. The exciting part: what it’s leaving behind is pure chaos. Creativity, after all, thrives on chaos. I remember my first contact with professional creative jobs. It was very confusing at first to adjust to the fact that I couldn’t just keep having ideas along the way. That there was a moment to write a script, then you lock it, and move to storyboards; that would eventually be locked too. Then shoot, lock; and edit, lock; post-produce, lock. A process that is defendable, but still based on the limitations of the tools we use. I learned to operate that way, bu quieting my muses when it’s time to “be professional and stop having ideas,” like I was once told. But that’s not how we think, that’s not how our creative muses work, and I know that because all the interns that come fresh from their own minds always have to adjust just like I had. In the last two years, the real shock of creating with AI didn’t really come from new things we couldn’t do or even the efficiency and speed with which these old tasks can now be performed, but from how natural the creative process now is. You have ideas, make frames for all of them, creating variations as you go, then get them to move and start editing along the way. Which allows you to edit and do visual effects on the go too, quickly realizing you can use an extra shot here and there, add or substructure new arcs along the way… so you just keep going, never forcing your muses to shut up, until you run out of time or you just like what you have enough to abandon it to the world. I don’t know about yours, but my creative mind operates like that. Chaotic, uncontrollable, and very proud of it. So far, playing with AI gave me hope we are heading fast in that direction again. Tools incfluencing creativity and its expressions are nothing new, obviously. It happened multiple times in creativity’s history. But artificial intelligence, with its still unknown power and speed with which it’s landing, is going to cause a bigger stir with way less time for the world to adapt. A tsunami of ignorance washing away all the things we thought we knew about how to do our jobs. All of a sudden, we are all interns again.
Testing out the new Magnific AI “relight” lighting transfer. This stuff is going to get wild when it works with video. In a not too distant future, with world engine Ai, you’ll even be able to just “move a light” by gesturing how you want it moved.

Two universal and basic elements to make the machine work are: battery and metadata. Without battery, the machine won't move. Also, battery accounts for 40% of the total cost of an electric machine, e.g., electric car. Without metadata, the machine won't be able to do even a simple task like to move and to sense the situation. Do you or any contacts of yours need our expertise/IP, a copyrighted multilingual metadata, that can do what high technology, like AI, high-end chips, supercomputers, etc., can't do NOW? Thanks. Metadata is an enabler. It's a publication, NOT a technology. It's like a treasure map, curated by human for treasure hunting. Without treasure map, NO technology can find the treasure. Similarly, without metadata, NO data can be found/retrieved, even by the most advanced technologies, like AI, quantum computers, etc. https://lnkd.in/g-aJFnXR Due to its origin of weapon, AI has risks itself. European Parliament's AI Act has identified a practical list of high-risk AI applications, and EDUCATION is on the list. This Act has been approved by European Council 🇪🇺. 關於 AI 人工智能的一些事實 (Chinese version): https://lnkd.in/eeVbdcza Some fact findings about AI (English version): https://lnkd.in/gwcPNUPP
In an effort to train better multipurpose robots, MIT researchers developed a technique to combine multiple sources of data across domains, modalities, and tasks using a type of generative AI known as diffusion models. https://lnkd.in/gt8gPgVG
