Easily one of the coolest deals I've ever done professionally in my life.

Last year I decided to join the Innovation Farm team to lead the development of F1 in schools Italy. The challenge was to let more Schools and Teams join but also to support these students with dedicated training course to improve, in a limited time frame, their skills in the required topics (project management, 3D CAD, CFD, marketing, manufacturing…). The challenging part is that these subjects are not taught in their schools. Thanks to a strong list of Partners we were able to provide top edge training (some of the courses are the same we provide our employees in Dallara) and than, a couple of weeks ago, during qualifying event we saw what they did. Guess what? We were shocked by what most of the teams were able to do. Many teams delivered Portfolios (presentations explaining their development for each single topic) that impressed us all for the depth of the analysis and the quality of the presentations. Cars were in most cases very well made. As in real Formula 1, testing was reduced, just a few runs the same day of the event. No car broke down and some were incredibly fast meaning that design, weight and drag had been well managed from the design Team. The event was a huge success, excitement was visible, nobody used mobile phones if not to take competitors picture and time sheets to improve they car. Was all the time and resources we dedicated to this project well spent? I cannot think of a better way to invest in future generations. Should any of you find in a CV that somebody was in an F1 in schools Team, well, thinks twice before looking for somebody else. 2024 will end with 6 full day events, 21 schools and 28 teams. I bet next year we will have to manage more, a lot more.

Motorcycle fatalities are at an all time high ( 5,579 fatalities in 2022)— so how is it that the world's best professional motorcyclists walk away virtually unharmed after such frightening incidents? It is the evolution of the safety features and gear. Make no mistake, these advancements have come at a high cost. It is precisely events like this that allows the industry to review what worked, and what does not- and modify their products accordingly.
