What measures are included in the Hospital Readmissions Reduction Program? CMS uses the excess readmission ratio (ERR) to assess hospital performance. The ERR measures a hospital’s relative performance and is a ratio of the predicted-to-expected unplanned readmissions rates. This summer, I'm thrilled to be juggling not one, but two internships—each offering unique challenges and learning opportunities. At the Center for Sustainable Communities, facilitated through Georgia Tech's SCoRE program, I am part of the Tech Academy project. This initiative is dedicated to equipping underprivileged adults with vital tech education and resources, enhancing their professional development. My role involves implementing a strategic plan from last year, turning visionary goals into tangible outcomes. It's a fantastic opportunity to delve into project management and educational equity within the tech world. Simultaneously, I'm diving into software engineering at OrbDoc, a dynamic startup where I'm honing my skills in React Native Front End Development. This role allows me to tackle real-world tech challenges, contributing directly to the development of innovative solutions that enhance user interactions. Both roles are immensely enriching, pushing me to balance multiple responsibilities while expanding my technical and strategic skills. Doctors in the emergency room have a lot to do in a short time. They need to quickly understand why a patient is there, what's wrong, and how to help them. Writing down all the important information can be hard when things are moving fast. Some doctors are starting to use new computer programs that listen to them talk and write down what they say. This could help them keep track of a patient's main problem, their medical history, the doctor's exam, and the plan for treatment. By using these tools, doctors might be able to spend more time focusing on taking care of patients and less time writing notes. As technology gets better, we may see big changes in how emergency room doctors work and keep records. #ERnotes #DoctorNotes #PatientCare
