On this day 246 years ago, the Second Continental Congress passed the first Flag Act stating: "Resolved, That the flag of the thirteen United States be thirteen stripes, alternate red and white; that the union be thirteen stars, white in a blue field, representing a new constellation." From Betsy Ross's legendary creation to the 50 stars on the flag today representing each state in our nation, Old Glory has become an enduring symbol of American ideals - liberty, democracy, and the never-ending pursuit of justice and equality for all. While the flag has gone through redesigns over the centuries as new states joined, its core meaning has remained constant - representing the indomitable American spirit of courage, perseverance, and an unwavering commitment to freedom. On Flag Day, we honor the powerful ideals embedded in those stars and stripes. We celebrate the hard-fought journey of progress to continually push America to live up to its founding promise of liberty and justice for all. So fly your flags high today and every day. For the flag is a living symbol, calling on us all to protect and uphold the values that have illuminated America's path for nearly 250 years. #FlagDay #FlagDayUSA #OldGlory #AmericanFlag #Patriotism #Liberty #Democracy #Equality #Lee

🎇 Happy Independence Day! As we gather to celebrate our nation’s founding, let’s reflect on a core question: What makes America truly great? 🤔💡 #July4th #IndependenceDay On this day in 1776, our founders embarked on a bold experiment in democracy by declaring all people are created equal. This principle has guided us as a nation through more than two centuries of change. It’s a reminder that our strength comes from our commitment to freedom—for everyone. 🗽📜 Consider the early patriots, who dared to imagine a free America where every voice could be heard. From the abolitionists to the suffragettes to civil rights heroes, every generation has champions who have pushed us closer to fulfilling that original promise of liberty and justice for all. Isn’t that the heart of patriotism? ❤️ This July 4th, let’s honor our nation not just by looking back, but by looking forward. Let’s commit to ensuring that freedom and justice are not just ideals, but realities for all. As we enjoy today’s celebrations, let’s also ask ourselves: How can we contribute to making America live up to its highest ideals? 🌟🚀 #4thOfJuly #AmericanPride #FreedomAndJustice

🇺🇸 America was founded on timeless principles that remain as relevant today as they were over two centuries ago. The vision of our founding fathers, guided by the Constitution, established the framework for a nation built on freedom, individual rights, and limited government. In America, the government's primary role is clear: to protect and defend the rights of its citizens. This fundamental principle ensures that every American enjoys the liberty to pursue their dreams and live their lives as they see fit. While the world may change, America's principles endure. The values of liberty, order and equal opportunity are the bedrock of our nation, shaping our laws and guiding our actions. Today, as we navigate the challenges of a rapidly changing world, let us remember the timeless wisdom of our founders. Let us uphold the principles that have made America great and continue to inspire generations of Americans. 🗽 #America #FoundingPrinciples #Freedom #Liberty #LimitedGovernment 🇺🇸

I believe in the United States of America, as a government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed; a democracy in a republic; a sovereign Nation of many sovereign States; a perfect union, one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice, and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes. I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it, to support its Constitution, to obey its laws, to respect its flag, and to defend it against all enemies https://lnkd.in/gsFRwwNt

As Americans, we've always respected our flag as a symbol of our freedom and the sacrifices of those who fought for it. Unfortunately, we're seeing more and more instances of disrespect towards our flag. It's time to take a step back and reflect on what our country stands for. We need to come together and work towards reclaiming our country before we lose the freedom that so many have fought for. Let's honor our flag and all that it represents.

Sometimes we are asked to prove oppression. Take a look at this list compiled by Donald R. - it's comprehensive of course, but 100 is a lot for a non-comprehensive list.. Having a tangible list may help some trace and take in the differential impact of racism and slavery... Have look. Notice what comes up for you. And ...what's your next step?
To suggest that slavery benefited black people (American Descendants of Slaves) is to trivialize and negate the immense pain, suffering, and generational trauma caused by this sinister institution. It is important that we approach this topic with the sensitivity and respect it deserves, honoring the memory of those who endured unimaginable horrors and recognizing the ongoing fight for equality and justice. However, I have compiled a comprehensive list of 100 companies who actually benefited from the transatlantic slave trade. The call for reparations for the American Descendants of Slaves (ADOS) is justified by historical evidence of failed policies that have disproportionately harmed this community. On this day, that celebrates our country's independence, let's also keep in mind- that we are fighting for our own independence in November. Project 2025, creates a King, instead of a President, turning this county into an autocracy. History repeats itself. And autocratic movements are international. The fight for our freedoms, began with Dobbs, which removed full citizenship from women. If Trump wins, many, many others will also lose their rights to be full citizens. Ignore the poll-polling data is some of the worst data in existence. The sole thing we ALL must do, is get people registered, and to the polls. Young people have indicated in good research, that they are tired of it all, and may not vote-yet their vote was a big part of Biden's victory. We need to energize young people, and ourselves. We are all, already wounded warriors, like the song says. But we get up, even with our wounds, and we fight like hell. At this point-it is ALL about who and how many- come out to vote. That's what it's come down to. Volunteer! I'll be driving people to the polls all day. Call the League of Women Voters, wherever you live, and ask them what you can do to help. It's astounding-but we have to fight even harder this time. But it's a must. Project 2025 is the end of our democracy. Debates aren't important-most people don't watch them. Biden's mental fitness is just fine-don't pay any attention to that crap. Think about how hard it might be to debate a man who simply lies and lies and lies. That isn't a debate. Please- do MORE this time. A lot can be done from home. Making calls, for example, to registered voters in your district, asking if people have a plan to vote. Call your House Reps and Senators. Tell them to fight like hell, and ask if there's anything you can do to help them win. I've had the Congressional Switchboard as a contact on my phone for years. Calls DO make a difference. Here is the number- the operators will connect you to anyone in the House or Senate: 202-224-3121. Yes, we are wounded warriors already, but we must get up, get together, and fight again. It's Independance Day. Let's make sure we don't lose OUR independence in November! #freedom #civilrights #civilliberties #democracy #autocracy #independance #vote #trump #gop #scotus #fight
