Today, a customer ASIC is successfully producing PVT (Position, Velocity and Time) information in continuous tracking mode. The best part? The chip uses live L5-band signals from GPS, Galileo, and BeiDou, sidestepping the much older L1 signal altogether. oneNav’s exceptional pureL5 solution is now protected by U.S. Patent 11,686,855, “Modernized Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) Receivers and Commercially Viable Consumer Grade GNSS Receiver.” This is the company’s first patent and an official step toward making reliance on the L1 signal obsolete.
