This strategic move is in an effort to demonstrate the notion of strength in unity. Both of our organizations encourage others to join the movement. Thank you

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗚𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗵 David and Goliath is a tale of facing challenges that seem insurmountable. This is the story of AiME and DECA. None of our team members had ever participated in a district competition before. We entered one of the most competitive events, the Start-Up Business Plan, in the largest district in Texas, District 7. After months of meticulous planning, we finally arrived at the competition. Despite our preparation, some of us forgot our lines during the presentation. Yet, we improvised on the spot, and it turned out even better than the scripted version. As we waited for the results, we watched many of our classmates get rejected for the state competition. The closer it got to our names, the more nervous I became. But against all odds, we were called up. I received the district medal with sweaty palms and a huge smile. We thought, if the district competition was this tough, what would States be like? When we arrived in Houston for the state competition, we believed we had everything under control. However, we soon discovered that our competition paper, containing all the crucial information about our product, wasn't printed correctly. We spent hours walking back and forth, trying to find a place that could print it properly. We walked about 5 miles within a 1-mile zone we were told not to cross. Finally, we found a local business that could print it for us, just an hour before our presentation. This left us exhausted and, honestly, unprepared. Even though we didn’t qualify for the national competition, the experience and knowledge we gained were invaluable. The time we spent and the lessons we learned have shaped AiME into what it is today. This competition is only the beginning.

Three weeks into this year’s #BCorpMonth, we’re reflecting on why being a B Corp is important every month of the year. At Cube Group, our #BCorp certification is a badge we wear with pride. It’s an external indicator of the core values that make us who we are – a purpose-driven consultancy with a strong vision for a better future. Our decision to become a B Corp in 2017 was a natural extension of our foundational reason for being—to make a meaningful difference in the community. One of the ways we live the B Corp values and strive towards positive change is by embracing curiosity. This means listening intently, learning about the challenges our clients face, asking questions, and exploring options and possibilities. We think deeply about the sectors we operate in, the services we offer, and the projects we work on. Our approach is grounded in the belief that – through curiosity – every challenge presents an opportunity for growth and innovation. During B Corp Month each year, we take time to reflect on our journey, celebrate our achievements, and look forward to the paths of improvement and innovation that lie ahead. But we don’t just celebrate our own certification; we amplify a movement of organisations using business as a force for good. #BCorpMonth2024 is an opportunity to reflect on the power of collective action and the impact of aligning business practices with the greater good. We’re excited to continue our journey - driven by curiosity, guided by our commitment to positive impact, and strengthened by the accountability and values of the B Corp certification.
➡️ The future is this way, are you coming? As individual B Corps and as a movement, we have the opportunity to drive change and propel progress for generations to come. Learn more about this collective of businesses for good and the change we have on the agenda. To get involved this B Corp Month, visit: bcorpmonth.com If you’re new to the B Corp movement or would like to learn more about the certification, we’ve just launched ‘Behind the B’ — a free online course. Enrol here: https://bit.ly/43pBqhx 🎥 A special shoutout to Mikey Leung, Peter Dowson and the Digital Storytellers team for capturing the wisdom of our wonderful community at our recent B Corp Assembly.
