New month, new reporter Q&A.    Loved being in Austin at SXSW earlier this month and connecting with some of the biggest names and brands in retail, tech, travel and media including Nick Kwek - BBC TV producer and founder of ProjectX. For March’s Q&A, we chatted live at #SXSW2024. Let’s dive in! #SwayEffectSXSW   Q1: As a professional storyteller who has worked in the media for almost 15 years, what were your biggest takeaways from this year's festival?    The biggest takeaway for me this year was the incredible generosity and support from the media community. I feel privileged to be able to have a seat at the table and was blown away by the sheer talent and inspirational attitude of so many individuals in attendance. The festival is unlike any other - people that are there actually WANT to be there.   Q2: One of the reasons that you came to SXSW was to interview Eli Crossley – the youngest ever performer at Glastonbury music festival for an upcoming BBC documentary. Why do you think SXSW has become the place for these kinds of stories?     The wild variety of what SXSW offers is what keeps me coming back - where creativity and the future converges. It was the perfect place to speak with Eli, who is pioneering a new technology that has the power to save lives. It's a deeply personal story that touches on the transformational power of innovation.    Q3: You recently became the first journalist in the world to witness an AI-assisted brain surgery live. How are you seeing AI change everything – including journalism?   AI is changing everything. From fashion to food, health to energy, developments in AI are changing how we eat, how we dress, how we move, how we breath, and how we live - and, in the world of journalism, it raises questions about trust, transparency, ethics. It's fundamentally changing how we make media and how consumers digest it - there is far too much to discuss here - book me for an AI keynote and I'll tell you more!
