After nine years, today was my last day at USAA. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to serve our military community alongside my wonderful colleagues and thankful for all their mentorship and support. Next week, I start a new chapter in my career with Visa as Counsel for Visa Consulting and Analytics, but I will never forget my time at USAA and will forever be proud of all that my colleagues and I accomplished for the benefit of our members.

I’m very pleased to announce my graduation from the University of Michigan’s Executive MBA program. I’m grateful for the support from my family, and the great friends I made in this program, without which I could not have succeeded, and to whom I credit this accomplishment. At the start of the program, I was featured by the university in a student profile for the program titled “Connecting Business and Law,” and I echo today many of the same sentiments I expressed then… the program was indeed challenging but entirely rewarding and I fully expect that the friendships I made along the way will last a lifetime! https://lnkd.in/gRe32Mxh

Today is my Life Day. Five years ago, I completed my last round of radiation and chemotherapy treatment for Stage IV cancer. I remember my doctor telling me that day was my new birthday, and that if my cancer did not return after five years, they'd consider me cured. I still carry some scars and lasting effects from the treatment, but I'm still here five years later, and I have great plans for the next five (and the next five after that). The picture below has nothing to do with this post, but it's my favorite recent picture of me, and I figured today was a good day to share...

The highlight of my last UTA weekend at March Air Reserve Base was an early morning team-building hike up Mount Rubidoux. California’s a stunningly beautiful place, and although I’ll miss this assignment and my colleagues at Fourth Air Force, I’m looking forward to my new assignment and the adventures that await…
