Recently, we hosted a group of benefits consultants to seek context on employers' approach to the value of investment in GLP-1s. What did we hear? ⭐Navigating ROI with high employee turnover rates is a common challenge ⭐Maintaining weight health after the prescription is a priority ⭐There’s an appetite to showcase how to better engage employee populations that have health disparities or are affected by drug shortages These conversations don’t stop here, but continue as we work to address barriers to care, stigmas against obesity, and increased incidences of chronic disease. As we wrap up #Pride month, we wanted to reflect on the amazing activities our OUT @ Omada ERG planned. What did we get up to? 🌈 We kicked off the month with Drag Show Bingo, hosted by Virtual Drag Shows' Schwa Works for the third year in a row! 🌈 Celebrated our pride with a karaoke hour hosted by our OUT ERG (we loved the Omada renditions of "Good Luck, Babe!" by Chappell Roan) 🌈 Held space for colleagues with a pride discussion hour for employees to have an opportunity to reflect on the importance of the month 🌈 Collaborated with the Capability ERG to host a speaker who identifies as neuroqueer to explore self-acceptance, regulation techniques, and learn more about the overlap between Autism and gender diversity 🌈 Lastly, OUT ERG sent Omada Pride swag to members! According to recent research from the Pew Research Center, 53% of Americans familiar with GLP-1s think they are a good option to lose weight for people with obesity or a weight-related condition. But in contrast, only 16% think they’ll do a great deal or quite a bit to reduce U.S. obesity overall. That leaves us wondering 🤔 How can we make a bigger impact on those that take GLP-1s so it has a larger effect on obesity prevalence? While we don’t prescribe GLP-1s, we’ve thought long and hard about how to help members not only while they take the medications, but also if/when they decide to stop taking them.
