STRATEGY EXECUTION – THE OPPORTUNITY TO GO BEYOND TRADITIONAL FINANCE ROLE They say execution is the best strategy since it ensures that things get done as planned and helps achieve organisational objectives. Finance evaluates and approves capex or spend proposals. Traditionally, the role has stopped there. But, being business partners, there is an opportunity for finance teams to go beyond approvals and engage in the execution of decisions relating to new projects, growth initiatives (eg, digital transformation) or business recovery actions. Every Investment or project carries several underlying assumptions and realising them ensures its success and business growth. Finance can help track actual performance and progress against each of these assumptions.  We can help build the right KPIs, allocate resources in time and highlight issues to the right people.
