Partner Drew Wilkes led a judicial panel at the 40th Annual Family Law Institute in Hilton Head, South Carolina on May 31, 2024. The panelists were Judge Elizabeth D. Gobeil and Judge D. Todd Markle of the Georgia Court of Appeals. Drew (with the assistance of associate attorney Will Phillips) also submitted written materials on the expanded jurisdiction of the Court of Appeals of Georgia in the wake of the Appellate Jurisdiction Reform Act of 2016 (O.C.G.A. § 15–3–3.1). The seminar was sponsored by the State Bar of Georgia Institute of Continuing Legal Education. Coming off its fourth consecutive SCTP National Championship, the team was recently honored with the M. A. Spellman Award by the Greater Savannah Athletic Hall of Fame. Oliver Maner partner Lee Summerford and Forest City Gun Club Manager Zac Guerrettaz, the founders and directors of the program, accepted the award on the team’s behalf at the annual Hall of Fame Banquet. Founded in 2014 with 8 shooters, including Lee’s son Jake Summerford, the team now has more than 85 shooters with Jake finishing his career this season as a Collegiate shooter and partner Drew Wilkes’s son, Andrew, competing at the Junior Varsity level as a 9th Grader.
