As leaders, it's essential to stay connected with those we lead, even as we grow and evolve. Our knowledge and circles may change, and with that, our thinking and communication styles might shift, too. However, we need to ensure we can still share our new insights in a way that resonates with our teams. Staying relatable and relevant is key to effectively passing on our knowledge and helping others grow. As we work to help our teams reach their full potential, this approach makes it more likely that our new ideas and concepts will be well received, leading to real growth and change.

💯 This is so good. I live by this motto. I have been to hell and back, enduring years of self-sabotage. My life experiences of overcoming challenges have given me the drive to help others cultivate self-awareness and follow their hearts. There is immense power in understanding oneself deeply and making decisions aligned with one’s true desires. By sharing my journey and the lessons I’ve learned, I aim to empower others to break free from their limitations, trust their intuition, and live fulfilling, authentic lives. You can’t teach what you haven’t experienced!

Self discovery is the cornerstone of sustainable leadership. No regard for self results in disregard for others. No regard for self development results in disregard for the development of others. You must see yourself as someone worthy of investment. This is what inspires you to develop the same competency in others. Effective serving is the overflow of self discovery Not self hatred. Your generosity depends in large part on that which is most genuine. You give others who you are. Not just what you have.

“You cannot give what you do not have!” Sounds simple, yet it is so profound. You have to get better in order to raise the bar as leaders. You have to keep learning and keep growing. Capacity development and personal growth doesn’t happen automatically as a result of “years of service,” it is intentional!

"You cannot take people where you have not been!" I disagree. In fact, that's part of what pathfinding really means. To take the roads never traveled. To make one's own path to a destination. The adage of, "Let's see where this leads!" While one could argue it's more beneficial to have been somewhere you want to take your team, because now you have intimate and direct exposure to it so you know what to expect...a deviation from that norm by taking everyone, yourself included, into something that not one of you have seen before...that's invaluable. There's a benefit to having had sent a scout out ahead of time just as there's benefit in rallying the troops and forging ahead into destination unknown. So I disagree in the premise that one can't take people where they themselves have never been. Pure poppycock. My $0.02.

So well said!, You cannot take people where you have not been! In other words, YOU as a leader, YOU have to work on yourself. In order to be good at any role in your life, you have to BECOME a better soul first! THIS is the reason we have alottt bad leaders, because they don't work at themselves.

“YOU HAVE TO GROW FIRST. If you want your team to grow” “YOU HAVE TO GET BETTER FIRST. If you want your team to get better” “YOU CANNOT TAKE PEOPLE WHERE YOU HAVE NOT BEEN!” “‘The LAW of AWARENESS’ in the ‘15 Invaluable Laws of GROWTH’ by John Maxwell, I realized the more QUALITY QUESTIONS we ask ourselves - about us- the deeper an #awareness we can obtain of - who we are, - where we are, and - where we want to go.” - “‘The LAW of AWARENESS’ says, - “You Must #KnowYourself to #GrowYourself ” we have to start with us. And no one knows us better than we know ourselves! We don’t have to like the steps and stretches it takes to grow but we do have to take #INTENTIONAL #ACTION in the right areas to GROW. And I promise the growth you obtain along the way will be worth your effort!” - “Think about your #corevalues and whether or not you're willing to do anything differently in order to grow. Whether we like it or not, we cannot remain the same and #grow . #Growth requires #change and that change can be small or huge. It’s up to you!” https://www.dove-development.net/blog/The%20First%20Thing%20Required%20to%20Grow%20You--- Source - original post Read all my posts #MariusPreston
