I am seeking a new business opportunity that aligns with my strengths and interests, offers growth potential, and provides a positive and stimulating work environment.
I really enjoyed watching this video tour of Eversys SA, and specifically listening to Alexandre Rossier talking about design and Geoff Marks explaining the technology. I love how they keep machines online all the time, and that they are designed for serviceability, so you can diagnose any issues remotely and make repairs without sending a technician. The Swiss engineering behind the modules was fascinating. Front access, no tools required, brilliant! Robots will not replace humans serving and engaging with customers, but machines like Eversys SA will provide the experience of an expert barista, without actually having an expert barista on staff. So if you could guarantee that every time I visit any random coffee house that I will have my latte prepared by an expert, then Eversys doesn’t need to exist. Qualified and expert labour is the issue, inconsistency is rampant as well as efficiency and speed of service. Eversys provides that expert barista every time to give you unequivocally the best possible experience. Embrace technology while prioritizing customer satisfaction. Engage with your customers through a friendly smile and simple gestures to create a welcoming atmosphere. This human touch will enhance customer satisfaction and build loyalty.

How should you show up at an association event or conference? I had the privilege of attending the LeadingAge California BOLD Age Annual Conference this week. Jeannee Parker Martin, Kevin Tuuaga, Soua Vang, and so many others orchestrated a remarkable environment that fostered learning, growth, and most importantly, a sense of community among industry professionals. As a sales professional, I've often pondered about the best way to approach these events. What are my priorities? What do I hope to gain? What can I contribute? These questions have led me to some valuable insights over the years. Let me offer three suggestions . . . 1) Focus on making friends. Over the course of the 10 years that I have attended this conference, I've made lifelong friends. Individuals who would share a meal with me, visit me in the hospital if I was sick, and join me in celebrating some of the significant accomplishments of my life. This is the real value of these conferences—the friendships you develop over the years. 2) Make a contribution. Mary Muñoz from Ziegler received the Award of Honor because of her contribution to the association and its members over her long and distinguished career. I was inspired by how she “led to” and worked with the members side by side to elevate the experience of older adults. Yes, she sold her service and earned some business along the way, but not because of her slick one-minute pitch, but because she used her gifts, skills, and abilities to make a contribution to the members of the association. 3) Offer encouragement. Instead of leading with what you do, commend others for their work, their contribution to the industry, and their impact on others' lives. Most people don’t hear those things often enough (thank you, Tiffany Karlin) Play the long game. Invest. Help. Encourage. Support. And then, I think you'll find that good business, the right business, comes as a result.
Day 2 of LeadingAge California's BOLD Annual Conference & Expo was a roaring success! 🎉 We kicked things off with an insightful #panelofpundits, delved into a variety of enlightening sessions, celebrated our exceptional 2024 LeadingAgeCA award recipients, and ended the night with the ultimate #BOLDBASH, #PardiGras style! 🎭✨ Thank you to everyone who made this day incredible. Stay tuned for more coverage as we continue to #TransformForTheFuture at #BOLD24! 🙌 #LeadingAgeCA #LeadingAgeCA24 #TransformForTheFuture

You just don't get to learn and hear from an entire news ecosystem for 3 days in one place that often; stunning location & conductorship from Claire Stuchbery and the LINA: Local & Independent News Association people : ) Some stuff that will stick with me for a while: hearing from Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) on media diversity measurement in 2024, i.e. the heart of the advocacy work by LINA and the Digital Publishers Alliance; defining + tracking impact and how do newsrooms challenge the statu quo; experimenting for new revenue streams when you're a one-wo/man news operation; learning about the practical use of Solutions Journalism at Missing Perspectives and Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC); discovering micro media reporting models like *PS Media and debating the ins and outs of ad-based, subscriptions, donations & memberships models...
That's a wrap on our 2024 LINA Summit, and happy World Press Freedom Day! What better way to celebrate than to spend the week amongst gutsy, talented local independent news organisations. Our Summit has now come to a close, after two inspiring days of panel discussions, keynote presentations and collaborative idea sharing. Thank you all for joining us at this event, and a special shout-out to the Newsport team for being our welcoming local co-hosts here in Port Douglas.

Sometimes it’s good to do something COMPLETELY new and terrifying! This platform is often used to highlight corporate wins (and don’t get me wrong, those are important). But I just want to take the time to highlight a very personal win for me. In spring last year, I was at a point in my life where I felt as if I was only existing as “half of myself”. Life felt a lot like a square box that I had been carefully building since I started studying in 2015. And I was honestly mostly showing the sides of myself I thought would be safe to show. So when X-factor contacted me to ask if I wanted to try it out, you can imagine that this was not the easiest yes in the world. It came with uncertainties and doubts that I had been carefully avoiding for many years. However, with help from loved ones, I managed to show up. And so far, I have learned so much! I have learned: 1: That the things we are the most scared to do, sometimes end up being the best experiences we will have. 2: That it is okay to have different sides AND to show them. 3: And finally, that being brave and passionate should be celebrated and encouraged. And you are allowed to feel proud of your accomplishments! From now on, I will try my best to bring all of this new knowledge to work! And also, have a look at my 6-chair challenge if you want 🎉

People remember bold moves. I found this old photo that brought back our boldest move: At one of our first exhibitions, we ditched the typical booth setup. Instead, we built a wrestling ring on the main floor. The result? Attendees were drawn to us, full of curiosity. 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵’𝘴 𝘨𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘯 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦? It was a scene you couldn't walk past without a second glance. The buzz was so loud that Ernst & Young took notice. They ended our successful stint with a round of beers for the team, impressed by the traffic we were generating for our booth and theirs right next door. 🍻 Key Insight: Be Memorable. In a sea of sameness, it pays to take a risk. Stand out, be different, and make a lasting impression. It's not about being seen—it's about being remembered.

Sometimes, what got you there won't get you where you want to go. Good advice in business, and good advice in going for it on 4th down. So, now the teams are set and I've picked my team for the Big Game. Here's some more good advice: Send in your nomination for this week's Nice Guy/Gal Awards. Every Friday, I’ll share nominations for people who have been identified as nice guys (and gals). If you want to nominate someone, just shoot me a private message by 5:00 EDT this Thursday. There are only 3 requirements: 1) you have to be connected to the person you nominate 2) you can only nominate one person per week 3) you can’t nominate yourself 😀 If you want to provide a brief reason for your selection, that’s great, but it’s not a requirement. Let’s recognize people who make a difference simply by being nice. Have a great day, everyone. https://lnkd.in/eY55XpTq #network #sportsbiz #people #niceguy #networking #sportsmarketing
