June 26, 2015, marked a historic day for our country. In the morning, the Supreme Court affirmed that same-sex couples had the constitutional right to marry. On the same day the ruling came down, Obama alum Pamela popped the question to her partner Viola Canales: Would she marry her? That day, love won and Viola said yes! The ‘Obergefell v. Hodges’ ruling was made possible not just by President Obama and his administration, but the advocates and the everyday heroes that worked tirelessly to secure equal rights for LGBTQIA+ Americans. To celebrate the anniversary of the ruling, we spoke to Pamela about her continued advocacy for the LGBTQIA+ community. Take a look: https://lnkd.in/g4_cEdxv
An epic moment! Coincidentally, I was nearby DC at this time. My now wife and I dropped everything to go to the Supreme Court to get a copy of the decision. Life changing step towards equality! Lorilie Neckel, MBA I’m sure you remember this moment too.
It's sad, we didn't get very far. It is not safe to be gay in America and in so many places in the world. If people are gay how ever could we trick people into the American white picket fence marriage dream?!? Oh the horror. Half the policy makers are in the closet and or white southern Christians. Read the room folks, gays are still in danger. But thank you for this. A step is a step.
I have promised my friends I will continue to fight to protect their marriages, despite the current SCOTUS and trends. No matter what.
Thank you to the Obama Foundation and all those advocates striving for human rights.
God damen you not in my cultre
I remember this day!
No thank you

1moOur forests are disappearing at an alarming rate. Over the past few decades, we've witnessed the devastating impact of deforestation, with millions of acres of lush, vibrant ecosystems being cleared for various purposes. This alarming trend not only destroys the natural habitats of countless species but also contributes to climate change, soil erosion, and the disruption of vital water cycles. It's time we take action to protect and restore our precious forests before it's too late.
