Our business itself, our processes, packaging and shipments are all done with the highest standards of safety & sustainable practice. By working or partnering with us any shop, manufacturer or client instantly “green’s” their battery use & supply chains, by Up-Cycling Batteries. Our intention is to do for the E-bike battery market what companies like Blackmarket.Com have done for smartphones and consumer electronics. Namely establish a significant national market for BETTER THAN NEW, better value, handcrafted, high quality, safe, refurbished and upcycled e-bike batteries. An alternative to expensive new often more expensive batteries from manufacturers, or cheap poor quality online ‘no name’ brand cells that not only have poorer performance & longevity, but can also be dangerous. 228,845 people saw my post about running culture being the ‘new streetwear’.. In it, I shared the idea that running culture might’ve superseded streetwear as a predominant grassroots cultural movement. It was a bold claim, prompting running and brand experts alike around the world to chip in with their comments - thank you to everyone who contributed. Some noteworthy points included: → Run club culture, though now at an all time high, was really pioneered by Charlie Dark and Run Dem Crew way back in 2007 → The discontinued Nike x #Gyakusou (founded by Jun Takahashi of Undercover) collaboration as a precursor to streetwear adjacent running collections we see today → Patta x Nike's recent collection was almost 15 years in the making, with 'Patta Running Team' founded back in 2010 by co-founder Edson Sabajo As touched on in my article with edition+partners's Substack 'SOTA' last week, it’s important to acknowledge that these pioneers pathed the way for today’s booming running culture which - as one commenter explained - might be seen as a big ‘evolution’ rather than an ‘revolution’ That evolution, though, might prove to be bigger than anyone could’ve anticipated.. As a former adidas employee, I enjoy how the company is growing its incredible legacy, adding epic moments like this! Tigist Assefa, an Ethiopian athlete, broke the women's marathon record in Berlin by over 2 minutes, wearing the Adidas Adizero Adios Pro Evo 1. Tigist was so thrilled with her performance that she kissed her super-light shoe, which weighs only 134 grams, in celebration. She described running in them as an "incredible experience." The impressive records achieved in recent years are a result of advancements in shoe technology, including lighter foam, improved biomechanics, and better materials. Innovation frameworks, such as the "Majambo" program, have also played a significant role, as seen in the development of the Adizero Adios Pro shoe, the foundational base for all these epic hits. This shoe allowed Kenyan athlete Peres Jepchirchir to break the half-marathon record by 37 seconds in Prague in 2020. Below are some essential factors that contributed to Adidas' remarkable success in this project: - "Majambo" is a Swahili term that translates to "something new" or "something different". During their visit to Kenya, the Adidas team, consisting of designers and engineers, collaborated with athletes to test and improve their products. They utilized the Socratic method of questioning to gather feedback from the athletes. When asked about their desires, the athletes used the word "Majambo" to describe what they wanted. -The Adizero Adios Pro shoe was developed through months of research, engineering, testing, and collaboration with athletes. -Peres Jepchirchir was one of the first athletes to take the Adizero Adios Pro shoe from testing to the race course, prototyping the perfect connection between the athlete and the shoe. -The Adizero Adios Pro shoe was designed, hybridizing under human-centric frameworks and scientific methodologies, to help athletes achieve their best and provide an extra push to accomplish their goals. How to find your "whitespace" and make a fortune in new markets? Reebok's journey into the US took decades. Known as a running company, they were facing a Nike-adidas-dominated-market. Around 1982, a representative's wife joined emerging fitness classes where women worked out to music. Arnold, curious, attended one. He noticed half wore New Balance, and the other half were barefoot. There was an opportunity! 💡 💡💡 He took the idea to Reebok's leaders! And, of course, they instantly rejected it. Reebok was a running company... ❌ ❌ ❌ But Arnold persisted! He took his vision through the backdoor and straight to the product team. 💡 💡💡 They crafted 200 sneaker samples, using glove leather for comfort. ❌ ❌ ❌ But the glove leather tore easily! The shoes lasted barely a month. Did they stop there? 💡 💡💡 They laminated the leather with nylon. Unfortunately, nylon didn't breathe. This is why shoes were made of leather... ❌ ❌ ❌ The ultimate solution? 💡 💡💡 Punch holes for ventilation!
