Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad - Meat Loaf. Well, it depends. For every role we advertise, if it has 'Work From Home' we get a healthy response, when we advertise that it's '5 days in the office', we get only a third of the applicants. So two thirds won't consider a role where they are required to be in the office. This is backed up by many, many, many conversations with our candidates. If a company policy is to have everyone in the office 5 days a week, you could be missing out on a larger talent pool. Is the best wanting flexibility? Disclaimer - I like being in the office. But even I like a day or two at home.

Want in on some hot goss? Your employees like to have FUN 👷🤩 (In the field AND in the office) Come on contractors, it's time to shift the spotlight from showcasing the 'best' way to present your company to celebrating the heart and soul of your organization – your employees! When you share glimpses of your team enjoying their work, you're not just revealing the faces behind the logo, you're highlighting the camaraderie, dedication, and passion that drive your projects to success. … and more importantly, the reason why your employees stick with you year after year ❤️ It's THESE human connections that make your company unique and attractive to clients and partners alike. The most common rebuttal we hear when it comes to showing “informal” moments on social is that it casts a messy light if they aren’t professional. I hear ya folks, I do… but let’s not forget the emerging workforce at play. These youngins have OPTIONS. Its not just about a good paycheck anymore (Although this is equally as important). Applicants want to PICTURE themselves at your company, making sure you pass the ‘vibe check’. I promise your clients won’t loose sleep over knowing you provide a charismatic working environment. If anything, they’ll hop on board and cultivate theirs all the same 🥳 So next time you happen to capture an employee getting jiggy with their bad selves, just post it. Your team will love you for it 👷🏽♀️

Recently I watched a recruitment ad video from a big financial institution advertising their “ice cream day”, plus other not that relevant things and could not resist commenting. Top talents don’t care about your “ice cream day”. They don’t care about pizzas in the office, neither, quoting “glass walls they can write on”. Top talents do care about: ✅ being paid well and competitively (yes, it does matter a lot, all of us have families to take care of) ✅ having flexibility to work from wherever they can deliver best results, not necessary in the office (spending 2 hours commuting is a waste of time that can be spent better) ✅ psychological safety - they have to be comfortable to talk about problems and share any ideas without the fear of being punished about these ✅ meaningful work that develop them as professionals Everything else is just a “dust in the wind”. Please reshare if you agree or comment if you do not!

Got chewed out by a Recruiter 'cause I'm "encouraging folks" to share their personal lives at work. He's like: "People hear what you're saying, but workplace relationships work differently, and what you share could be used against you." My comeback? "We share more when we're struggling, and I wouldn't wanna work somewhere that uses what I share or my vulnerabilities against me. Plus, transparency is key to a positive work dynamic. And if someone shares what you think is 'too much'... how hard is it to be empathetic or just lend a listening ear? The problem isn't me, it's you." Probably not the answer he was expecting. Now, I'm not trying to gloss over anyone's reality about how workplaces operate. But these are your lives, your time, and your choice on how you want things to look for you. When we choose to be part of an organization where we spend most of our waking hours, more than at home, more than with family or friends, I think it's fundamental to feel we can be open without fear it'll be used against us. It's just that simple.

THAT'S NOT MY JOB! 🚀 Navigating Role-Ambiguity in the Modern Workplace 🚀 This is a story about four people Named: 1-Everybody, 2-Somebody, 3-Anybody and 4-Nobody. There was an important job to be done and 1-Everybody was sure that 2-Somebody would do it. 3-Anybody could have done it, but 4-Nobody did it. 2-Somebody got angry about that, because it was 1-Everybody's job. 1-Everybody thought 3-Anybody could do it, but 4-Nobody realized that 1-Everybody wouldn't do it. It ended up that 1-Everybody blamed 2-Somebody when 4-Nobody did what 3-Anybody could have done. note: exclude some people 'Some works that everybody can't do' :)
