Initiatives like Big Apple Connect and #LinkNYC ensure New Yorkers are able to stay connected wherever they live, work, and travel across the five boroughs. "Reliable internet is a modern-day essential like heat or hot water, which is why #NYCOTI & the Adams administration are providing more residents with this critical service for free than any other city in the nation," #NYCCTO Matthew Fraser said. Do you think the younger generation is wrapped up in themselves? It is a question that often arises when observing their interaction with technology and social media. This perceived self-absorption might stem from the digital era's influence, where online connections sometimes overshadow face-to-face interactions. The omnipresence of smartphones and social platforms can lead to a certain detachment from immediate surroundings and a focus more on virtual engagements. As someone from an older generation who wishes to see them more engaged with the world around them, I suggest encouraging real-world interactions and experiences. We can promote activities that foster community involvement, emphasize the value of in-person communication, and provide opportunities for young people to disconnect from technology and reconnect with their environment and the people in it. These efforts could help bridge the gap between the digital and real worlds, creating a more balanced and integrated approach to living in this modern age.

In recent years, major corporations have significantly invested in various regions to boost economic development and attract talent. For instance, Microsoft’s $3.3 billion investment in southeast Wisconsin includes building a state-of-the-art AI data center campus in Mount Pleasant and establishing the nation’s first manufacturing-focused AI Co-Innovation Lab at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Milwaukee and its surrounding areas are now facing a similar opportunity—not in the tech sector, but in the creative industries. The city needs comparable investment in its creative sector to enhance its appeal, retain existing talent, and attract new creative professionals. An innovative model from Philadelphia, REC Philly, has garnered attention for its comprehensive approach to supporting independent artists and creative entrepreneurs. Founded in 2015, REC Philly provides affordable studio space, business education, and networking opportunities to empower creatives to build careers without leaving their home city. A similar model could transform Milwaukee’s creative sector, just like the potential of Microsoft’s recent investment in southeast Wisconsin.
Can Rec Philly's model help Milwaukee retain Black creatives?

Why Kids Without Wi-Fi Are More Creative? Without constant access to the internet and digital devices, children might engage in more imaginative play, creative problem-solving, and hands-on activities. They may have fewer distractions and be more inclined to use their imagination to entertain themselves. Encouraging creativity in children involves providing a balanced environment that includes a mix of digital and non-digital experiences, allowing them to explore various forms of creativity and self-expression. #DigitalDetox #KidsMentalHealth #KidsActivities ....................................................................... We need such innovative and creative ideas to develop team work and co ordination from childhood.. Schools are the foundation for these ideas. Unfortunately, most of the schools have become commercial focussing only on money. Surprisingly, I even saw Professional P&L review from school management where they discuss about EBIT and plan how to increase net profits. It's a business.. We will not be surprised, day may come where schools may raise IPO and entre NSE and we buy stocks to earn huge profits... Gone are those days where this level of discussions were happening to bring innovative ideas and value adding stuff in teaching. Most of the curriculum are outdated which is of no use in the present world of #artificialintelligence ChatGPT !! We are creating only mugging the sentences #culture which are of no use to our #future kids in the world of AI where stuffs are done in fraction of a second. This will increase unemployment, competition for survival and stress. Everyone has to pay the price when foundation is weak... #management #humanresources #socialmedia
