You know your military programs are working when the business proactively reaches out to request military employment training for their leaders. Military employment program leaders: While you seek to create great hiring programs and wonderful experiences for your military connected candidates, do not lose sight of importance of internal consulting and nurturing relationships with those who are doing the hiring in your organization. Only by increasing their understanding of the value of military talent and how to leverage your programs to meet their business needs can you do anything at scale. Your stakeholders, leaders and influencers within the lines of business are your true (force) multipliers. Damu McCoy Bei Ling Kristy Williams Fercho Kevin Schmiegel Hiring Our Heroes 50strong

Recently, I came across a fascinating statistic: approximately 1 in 8 American adults have worked at McDonald's at some point in their careers. All have been influenced at some level by their core values of service, inclusion? integrityand inclusion. Another report suggests that 6% of the adult population are proud military veterans. It got me thinking about the foundational values we pick up early in our careers and how they continue to shape our professional trajectories. For me, the leadership principles I internalized from my time in the USMC still resonate, even 20 years on. The foremost being "Know yourself and seek self-improvement". It's incredible how such values, learned early on, can mold our professional ethos for decades. I'm curious, for those in executive leadership positions: What core values or lessons from your first job have stayed with you throughout your career? How have they influenced your leadership style or corporate values? I believe that understanding and reflecting on these foundational values is essential for personal and professional development. Would love to hear your stories and insights! 🚀

Senior Enlisted Leader @ 316 SFS | Air Force District of Washington | Manufacturing Process Improvement, Training
Monday Message: It pays to be a winner: “You have competition every day because you set such high standards for yourself that you have to go out every day and live up to that. —Michael Jordan” As leaders we sometimes struggle by placing unreasonable expectations on the men and women who we serve with. We are quick to understand the challenges of setting the bar too high. However, I will tell you that the young men and women who work for you strive to be challenged, they seek to be the best, they want to be winners, and sometimes that means paying the price of hard work, high standards, and accountability. Never underestimate the value of a 300 Meter target goal, of setting the bar high and challenging your folks to clear it. Keep it simple; Establish a winning culture by setting high standards. Your airmen (including yourself) want to be challenged. Hold people accountable when they fail to meet the standards. Accountability is the only thing separating the high performers from the pack. Acknowledge those who meet or exceed the standard. It will reinforce the winning culture.” Blurp From The Wisdom of the Bullfrog By Admiral William H. McRaven
