There are several ways that we walk with Children's Ground. We’ll summarise these here to hopefully inform and inspire individuals and businesses wanting to develop a meaningful connection and partnership with Children’s Ground and/or other likeminded First Nations organisations, but perhaps unsure where to start." https://lnkd.in/gP7tHMS6

Love your eyes ❤️ World Sight Day is on Thursday, 12th October 2023, and Ainak is focusing the attention on the importance of eye care in the school room. Ainak is a Silicon Valley based nonprofit helping under-resourced school children and underserved communities across California achieve 20/20 vision free of cost. Our Mission No child should be left behind in the classroom due to the inability of the parents/guardian to afford proper eye-care. A 20/20 vision helps a child succeed in school and gain confidence to thrive in life. CDC reports over 62 million people in America lack vision insurance or access to eye care. In California over 240,000+ school students came back to the school without much needed eyeglasses. Ainak's mission is to fill this gap. In the US, 1 in 4 preschool-aged children have an undiagnosed vision problem, highlighting the importance of starting regular eye exams for young children. Good vision is important for a child's overall development and learning ability. If you wish to give a second chance to your gently used eyeglasses, place them in a ziplock bag with your email address and drop them at: Ainak, 19925 Stevens Creek Blvd, #100, Cupertino, CA 95014 #WorldSightDay #children #nonprofit #USA #BayArea #California

#GivingTuesday is underway and we are off to an amazing start! We are floored by the level of giving, and by the warmth of the good wishes that come with them. We are so grateful that the Kids’ Chance mission resonates so deeply. Even if you never experienced a workplace injury or death in your family, it is easy to imagine how overwhelming it must be – the grief of losing a loved one, compounded by so much financial uncertainty. Suddenly, dreams of a future – education, careers – are like so many pages ripped from a book, chapters that may never see the light of day. Until Kids’ Chance steps in. Your Giving Tuesday gift to Kids’ Chance is an opportunity to repair some of the financial damage caused by a workplace tragedy. Today is your chance to give every Kids’ Chance student a chance. Let’s fund a scholarship today! Join us with your gift: https://lnkd.in/gdy-DyYU #KidsChance #scholarships #workerscompensation

This summer showed a significant increase in summer camp member retention! ☀️ According to the nonprofit community centers we support, 41% of kids returned to the same camp this summer. Camps are retaining more kids year over year. ⬆️ This surge in member retention highlights the importance camp experiences have on both students and families. It illustrates how summer camps have the ability to build a strong bond in the community and earn parents' trust with a secure environment for their children. What are some ways you keep students and families engaged about summer camp? ⛱️ #daxko #community #industryinsights #summercamp

If you're unfamiliar with the Community Schools Model, which puts communities at the heart of education and schooling, or the work of Communities In Schools, the organization I work with which has been a beacon, a model and an active advocate of these ideals for decades, then start with this article. Now is the best time to educate ourselves about the benefits of this educational model so that we can advocate for policies and budgets that support this model of schooling during the current GA session and beyond! Reach out if you have questions! I love to share about the work we do! https://lnkd.in/eW8ukiJt
"A highly successful organization offering integrated student services is Communities In Schools. CIS is a national nonprofit that is one piece of the larger Community Schools puzzle. While many nonprofit providers offer valuable programming outside the traditional school day, significant and life changing support also occurs during the school day through organizations like CIS." Thank you Forbes for highlighting the work the work of CIS and sharing the perspectives of Communities In Schools of Richmond president and CEO Harold Fitrer and CIS Founder and CIS-VA vice chair Bill Milliken. Every interaction can teach you valuable lessons you can carry forward into other areas of your life. Daniel Cakora here again to share some reflections. Vendavo offers 16 hours of annual paid volunteer time to each employee so we can all give back to causes that matter to us. But this is something my family does outside of that. This year I volunteered for the Jackson Chance Foundation, and this one really hit home for me. Jackson Chance Foundation assists families with NICU-bound children by covering parking fees. My son spent a significant amount of time in the NICU, so I know what that’s like. Not having to worry about expensive parking fees during such a trying time was a weight off our shoulders for my wife and me. It gave us the freedom to visit our son, step away to run errands, and come back to spend more time with him – all without additional financial stress layered atop everything else. This cause means so much to us that we set aside money on birthdays and the anniversary of our son’s “come home day” to make contributions. There are little lessons like that everywhere. Openings for solutions that can help make others’ days a little less stressful or a little easier. Opportunities that matter a lot to the people on the other end of the experience. As Benjamin Franklin said, “When you’re good to others, you’re best to yourself.” https://lnkd.in/g547y64Z #vendavo #employeetakeover #jacksonchance #jcf
