With #naturalgas prices in North America pulling back sharply over the past several weeks, #NUSConsultingGroup has recently updated its model client position recommendations, which included adding to existing hedge levels in several future quarters. Due to unseasonably hot weather throughout much of the US expected for most of the summer season, we expect weekly natural gas reports to be below historic averages (with a strong possibility of a few weeks of withdrawals). As a result, excess inventories in place as we exited winter are, and will continue to, erode, which should provide pricing support. It might be time to review your current Energy Risk Management (ERM) strategy. For more information contact us at https://lnkd.in/eRyxUqwz

The purchasing of unbundled Energy Attribute Certificates (EACs) is becoming an increasingly popular approach for companies to reduce electricity (scope 2) emissions. These certificates are available in almost every electricity market, making them an attractive decarbonisation method for companies that operate in regulated electricity markets, or in markets where a direct renewable electricity supply is not available (in order to achieve decarbonisation targets), or where companies wish to consider options and an alternative costs to bundling the EAC within their supply contract (purchasing of unbundled EACs). Read about the options for purchasing unbundled EACs as part of our latest NUS Energy Blog. https://lnkd.in/gfF7eGPP #NUSConsulting #NUS #nusconsultinggroup #REGOs #RECs #GOs #UnbundledEACs #EACs #EnergyAttributeCertificates #Decarbonisation #Decarbonization #NetZero #EnergyProcurement #IRECs #SustainabilityReporting #SBTi #CSRD

Political analysts are still sifting through the results of the recent French election and how the coalition of parties from the left (which won the most seats in parliament) will attempt to govern. The election will undoubtedly have an impact on the future of the French electricity market. However, there are a few important items which had been decided prior to the election. Specifically, France's ARENH system (which was France's compromise to the EU) will come to an end at the conclusion of 2025. That means one more year of deciding between an ARENH contract and the free market - a difficult choice. What comes after ARENH in 2026 is still an open question. Read more of #NUSConsultingGroup analysis of the French market and AREHN in our latest Market Intelligence publication - https://lnkd.in/ezVR7jqZ.
