Participants on our volunteer programme have the opportunity to visit a family (by invitation) who are supported with care and treatment on our HIV programme. MaryKate agreed to share her experience of what is, the most emotive activity on our volunteer programme. Out of respect for the families, they are not captured in this footage and Nurture Africa's Senior Counsellor, Maureen Bonabana, who facilitates the visit, is visible in the background #uganda #volunteer #hiv

Although Lesotho has attained UNAIDS 90:90:90 (HIV epidemic control) for the adult population, the cascade for adolescents and young people is lagging. This is driven by various reasons such as: *Early childhood marriage *Intergenerational /transactional sex *Child headed household *Gender based violence *Cultural norms and practices. An advocacy visit to the District Head of Rigasa, Igabi LGA Kaduna State, Nigeria to discuss the plight of women and Children living with HIV/AIDS. Some of the issues discussed include; 1. Their inability to easily assess ARVs. 2. As a result of stigma, they choose to attend support groups really far from their community as well as assess ARVs in distant facilities where they are not recognized. 3. Food support for PLHIVs is very key to their life span. Good food is required inorder for ARVs to be effective. STIGMA is the main reason why PLHIVs still remain secretive about their status. STIGMA discourages PLHIVS from the willingness to assess ARVs. STIGMA makes them believe they have come to the end of the road. PLHIVs, OVCs, Children living with HIV/AIDS deserve a chance to live. #naca #unicef #unfpa #unwomen #christianaid #ninerela #globalfund #who #usaid

Co-convened by ITPC and ICAP at Columbia University, just ahead of the #CQUIN gathering on "Integrating Non-HIV Services into HIV Programs," emphasis was placed on the need for accessible, stigma-free services.
