Yesterday, Diageo hosted ‘Futureproofing London Bars’ at our Global Headquarters in Soho, in partnership with London Cocktail Week and City Hall. Bringing together bartenders, bar owners, and hospitality professionals for meaningful discussions and collaboration was truly inspiring. A huge thank you to Howard Dawber (Deputy Mayor of London for Business), Vicky Ilankovan (Equal Measures UK) and Abdus Salam (Grow London Local) for your partnership and especially to Hannah Sharman-Cox and Siobhan Payne, founders of London Cocktail Week, for spearheading this fantastic initiative. Hospitality is the third-largest employer in the UK, with 3.5 million people working in the sector, contributing £93 billion to the economy and generating £54 billion in taxes. London's vibrant bar scene is crucial for showcasing our extensive portfolio and allowing consumers from across the world to celebrate with our amazing brands. While we operate on a global scale, we consider Soho our home, continuously inspired by its dynamic bar scene driven by creative bartenders. Our Advocacy team plays a vital role in building, growing, and maintaining these important relationships within the bar community. Their efforts ensure that we remain connected and responsive to the needs of bartenders and bar owners, fostering a collaborative environment that benefits everyone. Congratulations to the Diageo Advocacy team, Claire Warner (Head of Advocacy) , Pippa Guy and Jo Last (World Class Ambassadors) for hosting an incredibly successful event. Our initiatives like Raising the Bar, Learning for Life, and World Class highlight our commitment to enhancing skills and opportunities within the industry. 🌟 A Toast to Excellence! 🌟 From the hundreds of talented bartenders who entered World Class GB in January, the field was narrowed down to 100 exceptional individuals who showcased their incredible drinks as part of the World Class Cocktail Festival. This festival took place in over 20 cities across the country during March and April, where thousands of cocktails hero-ing Tanqueray No. TEN, Seedlip, and The Singleton were served. A huge congratulations to all the contestants and the organisers for making this event truly special. The finalists recently gathered in London for an inspiring few days, culminating in a closely fought competition. Bartending is such an important craft, bringing people together and elevating the art of hospitality. It's fantastic to see these skills celebrated and rewarded. Huge congratulations to Danilo Frigulti who has been crowned GB World Class Winner 2024. Danilo truly impressed at every stage of the competition, and it's thrilling to see his hard work and creativity recognized. Looking forward to seeing what Danilo will achieve in Shanghai – this is just the beginning of an incredible journey for him. Cheers to all the participants and congratulations to Danilo!

It is with great pride that I share the news of my admission to the Freedom of the City of London and to the Livery of the Worshipful Company of Brewers, representing Diageo. This prestigious recognition underscores our unwavering commitment to the brewing industry. The beer and pub sector stands as a pillar of our economy, supporting over 900,000 jobs and contributing £26 billion in value. At Diageo, we take immense pride in our role within this vibrant industry. We are so proud that Guinness holds the esteemed position of being the number one beer in British pubs, a testament to our enduring dedication to quality and excellence. Supporting brewers isn't just good for business; it's good for beer enthusiasts and, crucially, for the UK economy. I am deeply honored to receive this distinction and together, let us raise a pint to the future of brewing.

Diageo launches Carer’s Leave Policy across the UK. On Saturday, the UK Government introduced legislation for all companies to have at least one week’s unpaid Carer’s Leave. Caring responsibilities can present significant challenges to employees if they are not provided the correct support. It is now estimated that one in seven of the UK workforce are unpaid carers, this legislation is welcome and timely news. At Diageo, we’re determined to adopt a proactive approach to supporting our people with caring responsibilities, with it an important part of Diageo’s goal to build the most inclusive and diverse culture. That is why I’m very proud that Diageo has today launched its Carer’s Policy, which will enhance the Government’s statutory position by offering our employees the option to take two weeks paid leave to care for, or arrange care, for dependents. Our Policy, which will initially be rolled out in GB but with plans to be extended globally, builds on other policies and guidelines such as Family Leave and Fertility Support in our commitment to foster an environment that supports every employee. We’re confident that this Policy will improve the support available to Diageo employees, mitigate the financial strains that are sadly common with caregiving, and raise awareness of this important topic. Well done to everyone who helped make this happen, including the inspirational colleagues who shared their personal stories to develop this Policy.
