Today Washington Arbitration Week has started. Although not being able to participate in person, I have had the chance to be a part of it in online format. The first day discussions were on : 1. 🎓 Excited to share that I've recently graduated from Fordham University School of Law with an LLM in International Business and Trade Law. It has been an incredible journey and I am grateful for the support of my professors and the law school administration throughout the process. The NUS Law Centre for Asian Legal Studies (CALS) would like to congratulate CALS researcher, Toh Ding Jun ’22, for winning the Outstanding Presentation Prize at the recently concluded INSOL Early Researcher Academics Workshop held in San Diego on 20 May 2024.   Ding Jun presented his working paper titled “The Logic and Limits of (Chinese) Bankruptcy Law” where he showed how the American law and economics understanding of corporate bankruptcy law does not readily apply to the Chinese context, and that more research is needed to understand the kind of legal and non-legal relationships that enter the bankruptcy forum in China.   We congratulate Ding Jun on his remarkable achievement at the workshop, and eagerly await the impact of his future research to the field of corporate bankruptcy law.   #calsnus #ChineseBankruptcyLaw #LegalResearch

Yesterday, we kicked off the first lecture of the Funds Law module that Matheson LLP delivers in partnership with the School of Law and Criminology Maynooth University. It is one of my favourite times of year, when I get to meet the new LLM students and to hear and share fresh perspectives and insights on my work as a funds lawyer.
