Mixing up 'carbon capture' and 'carbon removal'? Easy mistake! 😅 Just remember, one 'sucks' CO2 from the air, while the other 'scrubs' it from specific sources. Let's break it down and why it matters: 🌬️ Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR): Sucks CO2 from the air for negative emissions. 🔄 Carbon Capture and Utilization (CCU): Reuses CO2, often carbon neutral. 🏭 Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS): Stores CO2 from industrial exhausts, also often carbon neutral.

Carbon dioxide and other heat-trapping gases are the main drivers of global warming. While climate change cannot be stopped, it can be slowed. And to avoid the worst consequences of climate change, we'll need to reach “net zero” carbon emissions by 2050 or sooner....

My company produces a lot of emissions. Can I keep on emitting and just compensate for it all? Can you keep emitting if you buy CORCs and just compensate for it all? Unfortunately, no. Even in industries with higher emissions the priority should always be to reduce emissions and exclusively apply carbon removal credits like CO2 Removal Certificates, CORCs, to address hard-to-abate emissions. Read more about CORCs and how to buy them to neutralize your residual emissions: https://hubs.ly/Q02hRBhQ0 #CORCs #ClimateAction #CarbonRemoval #NetZero

Futureproof your business with Carbon Capture 🌱 Carbon dioxide is an unfortunate byproduct of many industrial processes. But Atlas Copco can now assist in capturing the expelled CO2 that would previously enter the environment and apply it to different processes. We have piston, screw, and centrifugal compressors with unrivaled efficiency and reliability that are designed specifically for CO2 compression in carbon capture operations 🌍 Read more about building an efficient carbon capture system! #CarbonCapture #CO2 #AirCompressors #Sustainability #Greenjourney

Can you tell the difference between CO2 and CO2? Not all CO2 is created equally. For example, #CO2 from fossil fuels and biocarbon differ significantly. While CO2 from fossil fuels can be carbon neutral at best, CO2 from biocarbon has the unique potential to create negative emissions when stored or used in specific applications. If we use CO2 captured from fossil sources in ways that eventually release it back into the environment, such as in greenhouses or in the production of synthetic fuels, this process will not be carbon-neutral. Therefore, we’ll need other sources of CO2 for both these short-term applications and to develop negative emission. 💡 To dive deeper into this topic, please download our latest white paper: https://lnkd.in/eKdMms8h #ClimateAction #CarbonNeutralEmissions #NegativeEmissions
