Do all FAANG (Facebook, Apple, Amazon, Netflix and Google) hiring managers think that having a hobby like fishing will interfere with your work? FAANG offices must be full of workaholics. People with no: ➡️ Friends ➡️ Family ➡️ Hobbies ➡️OR simply without a LIFE I, for one, wouldn’t want to work there. My clients often ask me if they should include interests in their CVs. If you want a job in a FAANG office, then perhaps better to take them off. If you don’t, then read on…… A well-written interests section can demonstrate that you are: ➡️ Involved in a community ➡️ Keep physically and mentally fit ➡️ Like to learn new skills ➡️ Travel bringing you cultural awareness But don’t leave it to the reader to conclude. Has working for a MAANG organisation lost its appeal? So often when speaking to candidates about their dream jobs and companies in the past, so often it would come up; the stability of a larger organisation or even working at a MAANG. However I can’t remember the last time either of these were mentioned. People seeing & experiencing the mass lay-offs over the last year, I think we’ve realised that no-one in any sized company is safe. More often I am hearing candidates are more interested in applying their skill-sets towards goals they are passionate about eg. Finding a cure, creating a greener, more sustainable planet, sports, having a bigger impact within a company etc. There is always a risk that lay-offs and redundancies might happen. So why not at least have it happen doing something you are genuinely passionate about? However I could be barking up completely the wrong tree. Does everyone still want to work for these companies?

My simple question is that, those orgs that interview for 5 + rounds for ICT/IC or equivalent roles, do you think they will decrease the entrance bar for anyone ? They have to eventually share their profit, right ? Even if I go there how can you as a discrete or swarm entity, be assured that you can convince them or equivalent to make you part of it Who are you talking with ? Are they among the board of directors of that organization ? They will say, why ? In the best case, they will say - We will give these people entry by acquiring you, rest should be laid off. It means that If they acquire someone as an organization then they will set the same guidelines for everyone who is part of it, right? Because if they normalize entry for even a single one, rest will take an example and demand an entry ticket. Hence,I am trying to be practical in my approaches so that the people who desire such, first establish the first feasible collaboration and then incrementally prove their worth to have further. Dont' get me wrong please, I have talked with many people during these two years of my unemployment and simply know who is bluffing others and who is guiding others towards a practical way. Kindly let me know if i am wrong and I would love to be correct and eventually correct those who shared this information with me.
