The cybersecurity landscape is constantly evolving, with attackers developing ever-more sophisticated tactics. Fortunately, defenders are not without powerful tools at their disposal. One such tool is Google Gemini, a large language model (LLM) specifically designed to bolster cybersecurity efforts. This article delves into the capabilities of Gemini, explores how it can be accessed, and outlines the potential benefits it offers for security professionals. https://lnkd.in/ewgpDWyX

Good question David. Quoting the SecurityWeek article, "(The guidance) promotes the implementation of secure-by-design principles, as well as transparency and accountability." That's a great goal, but to put this in plain english, unlike normal software, built by human coders, AI's grow on large amounts of data used to train the program. Because of this, there's no way to audit large AI's. Therefore, transparency to consumers around safety and data security will be problematic for companies building large LLM's. @ Conjecture .dev we're working towards building Safer AI and removing AI risk, creating smaller on-net models which mimic human cognition. Thus improving data security. They act like a trusted colleague. To David's point, until you know what the AI system is doing, you can't fully answer those consumer questions! #SoftwareDevelopment #DevTools #AI
This guidance is a great start. What I would like to see next is guidance for consumers in the form of a set of questions to ask AI vendors. Do you know of anyone working on something like this? #cyber #cybersecurity #infosec #informationsecurity #ciso #theprofessionalciso https://lnkd.in/g2cBW_iB

While #AI can bring greater cybersecurity precision and performance gains, it can also bring new attacks. In VentureBeat, Louis Columbus explains why cyber resilience and self-healing endpoints (that Absolute Software provides) are critical. So is a #zerotrust approach to every interaction with AI tools, apps, and the endpoints companies rely on is a must-have in any CISO’s playbook.

It goes without saying at this point that cybersecurity is more important than ever before. However, a recent report has found that "incident volumes increased by 13% in 2023, rising to 16% among enterprises, where scale and operational complexity are greatest." That's where GenAI comes in. At this point, bad actors already have their hands on AI and ML technology, and they're utilizing that technology in cyber attacks. It's a great way to start your AI journey to sharpen skillsets and defend your cyber assets. GenAI can save "teams valuable time on tasks like communicating with stakeholders while suggesting different ways to approach difficult problems," writes Eric Johnson. That means organizations need to start integrating this tech if they want to stand a chance against cyber criminals. #Cybersecurity #GenerativeAI #CyberAttack
