BREAKING: Meta stops AI plans in the EU Read our first reaction here: https://lnkd.in/d9CgBhZ7

Pls be mindful how you frase it, META has utilised AI incl OBJECT RECOGNITION AND FACIAL RECOGNITION & EMOTION RECOGNITION FOREVER, and has allowed partners to train generativeAI on ie. Facebook for a LONG time! Don't be naive, transparency and audits is the only answer to tech companies. Expect that META sucks everythingpossible out of your account. And I mean EVERYTHING.

Actually it doesn't "stop" anything, just "pause". But of course it won't even pause anything, it's just a declaration.

Great as it may sound and praise-worthy to insist on compliance to laws and regulations. However, it brings to the fore once again the delicate issue of balancing regulation and innovation, so that the former doesn't stifle the later. Especially, in the cases of new innovation and AI development.

great, as we can see, a lot of hold on, commitment and support is needed on the long journey to enforcing data protection, but it works! Thanks to noyb

What about minors? Both Facebook and Instagram allows users from 13 years old (and many are even younger) “/…/content shared by adults on Facebook and Instagram across the EU/EEA.”
