Partnerships are the foundation of every successful CAC.
We were absolutely delighted to receive a check from Medford Food Co-op last week as their chosen Positive Change recipient for May. Huge thanks to Medford Food Co-op and all the kind-hearted shoppers who made this donation possible! Being selected as the Positive Change recipient for May was an honor, and we are so grateful for the support. The funds received will go a long way in ensuring that we can continue to offer safe and nurturing spaces, as well as highly trained staff, for the children in our direct service programs. Once again, thank you for your incredible support! #ChildAdvocacy #CommunityFirst #ShopLocal

As someone who was born with a facial difference, I know how vital the work of AboutFace is. As the only charity in Canada that supports people with facial differences across the country, AboutFace fills gaps that many people do not know exist. Existing as someone with a facial difference in a world that hasn't adjusted to people with differences is extraordinarily difficult at times. It seems that everywhere I go, I get stares from strangers who often pity or devalue me. Existing on social media is even more complicated, as a lot of people are keen to learn about facial differences but the negative comments ("what's with your face?" or "why do you look like that?") are difficult to navigate. AboutFace is here for me, and for countless others in the facial difference community. The resources are invaluable, and the sense of community can not be duplicated. AboutFace can not continue these resources or programs without your support. Please, this Giving Tuesday, I really implore you to consider supporting me and others in the facial difference community by giving to AboutFace today. https://lnkd.in/gMzRTGrn That would really mean the world. #GivingTuesday

On National Non-Profit Day I am happy to know Charity Navigator rates Epilepsy Foundation as great at 90%, earning it a Four-Star rating. They exceed or meet best practices and industry standards across almost all areas. Likely to be a highly-effective charity. If this organization aligns with your passions and values, you can give with confidence. Eligible charities receive a zero to four-star star rating — this is determined by the weighted sum of the organization’s individual beacon scores (0-100). #nationalnonprofitday #501c3nonprofit #epilepsyawareness
While #NationalNonProfitDay may be our day - we wouldn't be here without you! Your generous support and commitment are making a difference for the 3.4 million people in the U.S. who are living with epilepsy and seizures. So whether you share our posts, donate, volunteer, advocate, or attend events, we're thankful for YOU!

So many #nonprofits are currently deep in their end of year #fundraising efforts....and many hands make light work. Below are some thoughts around how to engage the ever important #board in your work at this time of year!
You don't want to let any #donors fall through the cracks at end-of-year. One great way to prevent this is by making phone calls in the last week of the year to donors who haven't made a gift this year. #Board members are the perfect people to help with these calls. Use a simple script for the calls that can also be left as a message on voicemail. "Hi, this is (name) calling from (organization's name). I wanted to thank you for you past support of (organization's name). We hope we can count on your support again this year. Thank you again and happy holidays!" People are busy during the holiday season and they can get distracted and forget to donate to you organization (even if they love your organization). A quick phone call lets them know they are important part of your mission and is a gentle reminder for them to give. #Nonprofit board members, reach out to your organization's development team today and volunteer to help with these impactful calls. #boardfundraising #nonprofitfundraising #eoy

National Diaper Need Awareness Week is September 18 – 24, 2023, and draws attention to the issue of diaper need in the U.S. A signature initiative of the National Diaper Bank Network launched in 2012, the National Diaper Need Awareness Week provides individuals, organizations, communities, and elected officials the opportunity to engage in real talk and simple actions. By working together we can ensure that all babies have access to clean diapers and other basic necessities required for them to thrive and reach their full potential. One in two U.S. families struggles to provide enough diapers to keep a baby or toddler clean, dry, and healthy. Here are a few things you can do to participate: - Host a diaper drive and donate to your favorite nonprofit organization, such as The Treehouse. - The Treehouse is always in need of size 4, 5 and 6 diapers. - Request proclamations from elected officials. - Engage in Real Talk on social media via #EndDiaperNeed and #BasicsArentBasic - Make a donation to NDBN and/or a local diaper program.

Last week, my family spent a couple of days up north helping my husband, Don Riedthaler and the Ignite Northwest team, in their company’s test kitchen make and package meals for hungry kids. Between Don and I having worked decades in the restaurant industry, owning a restaurant of our own and having Don (aka Dad) as the primary cook at home, we have an abundance of food surrounding us, especially around the holidays. It felt so good (thanks to the powerful happiness hormone, oxytocin) to spent time in service to others. In the process, I noticed 3 benefits that parallel the neuroscience research in this article written by Brian de Lottinville https://lnkd.in/ggG4wUY3 1. Synergy 2. Cooperation 3. Connectedness More benefits observed: 1. Empathy 2. Laughter and play 3. Conversation 4. Future strategic planning and decision making It’s no wonder companies invest in team building where bonds can be formed. Though, upon reflection, the experience of helping others (for me) trumped some of the more prescriptive team building activities I’ve witnessed or participated in (karaoke bars, and escape rooms come to mind). What has your experience with team building been, and what are the possibilities for designing these opportunities with others in mind? If neuroscience fascinates you too, check out this article by Ritvo who writes about the neurochemical drivers of happiness: Dopamine, serotonin, and oxytocin make up the Happiness Trifecta in this article: https://lnkd.in/gqrX5QDA
#hungry #children - Two words that should never go together! Did you know that 1 in 8 children in #washingtonstate face hunger every day. None of those children make the choice to be hungry… Ignite Northwest prides ourselves in doing our part and giving back to our community, and this year we partnered up with Shawn Walton and #StLeosParrish with a commitment of 100 prepared meals…but little did we know that when we asked some of our local business partners like Jeff Winter w/CMA, who donated $500! and Jason Wirth with Bargreen Ellingson who donated a SUV full of to-go packaging and apple juice, we would be pushed to make more than 100 meals. Inspired by Jeff’s donation, I personally matched his gift and we now had $1,000 towards to purchase of food and supplies to make over 300 MEALS!!! A special shout out to the team at Ignite, specifically Ryan Devereaux who donated two days of his time to help make these delicious meals, and my wife Janell Payne and our family who also pitched in to help out! We are now devoted to make this an annual event and next year, stay tuned as our next #goal is 500 meals between #thanksgiving and #christmas #givingback #foodserviceequipment #foodbusiness #hunger #childrenshealth #foodbanks

Every child deserves a chance to shine! There are many ways to show your compassion and give back to children in need through Child Care Institutions 👇🏻 1) Volunteer your time and talents: CCIs often need help with a variety of tasks such as mentoring, caregiving, tutoring, organizing activities and even administrative tasks. 2) Be a Voice for Change: Raise awareness about CCIs and the needs of the children they serve. Spread the word on social media, talk to your friends and family. 3) Help Fill a Need: CCIs often have wish lists for essential items like clothing, school supplies, toys, or hygiene products. Donate what they truly need. 4) Give the Gift of Opportunity: Donate directly to a specific CCI or a national organization supporting them. Every bit helps! Every contribution, big or small, can make a real difference in a child's life. #makeadifference #supportchildcareinstitutions #pact
