On May 30th, 2024, NFS Vietnam parter Blue Dragon rescued two 14 year old Vietnamese girls who were trafficked to Myanmar and sold to a brothel. Over the past 5 years, they have been resold numerous times and endured horrifying treatment. 💔 Upon reaching safety, their first request was to call their mothers. We will not stop fighting until all are free. 🙏 #wearenotforsale #freedom #rescue #supportsurvivors #vietnam #endhumantrafficking

Today marks the 6th anniversary of the #RohingyaExodus, a reminder of the tragic exodus from Myanmar to Bangladesh when hundreds of thousands of #Rohingyas sought refuge to save their lives. Six long years have passed, and much has changed, but the plight of the #Rohingya #refugees endures. They continue living in dire conditions – with low food and nutrition supplies, fragile shelter and water and sanitation facilities along with increasing risks to various natural and human-made disasters. As the days pass by, the dreams and hopes of a dignified return to home with proper rights and freedom seem to fade away! The 6th anniversary of this exodus calls for #justice, #repatriation, and the safeguarding of Rohingya #culture. These aspirations aren't merely the responsibility of one nation but a collective duty of the entire global #humanity. No one deserves to be #homeless. Let's join our efforts together to help Rohingyas find #peace. Note: This is the 25th photograph of my series of #ActionAugust dedicated to the 6th year mark of the Rohingya Exodus. Please feel free to share your thoughts and express your solidarity with #RohingyRefugees. #ActFast #6yearsofRohingyaexodus #solidaritywithrohingyas #solidaritywithrefugees #withrefugees #NikonD780 #commscoplife #pabloamos

Drought and climate change have affected a lot of people around every country, especially Somalia, Ethiopia and many other African countries, not only in Africa but in the whole world. We need to have a climate resilience system that informs everyone to navigate and create ways to transform our environment and communities to invest in agricultural resources.

There are so many distressing things happening in the world today that it's hard to focus on anything other than the latest disaster. Yet, it's important to remember there are multiple crises in the world that need our attention and compassion. Remember the Rohingya? 6 years ago, almost 1 million Rohingya people fled Myanmar following a violent campaign by security forces. Today more than 1 million Rohingya are still living in refuge camps in Bangladesh. 6 years in a refugee camp. With no end in sight. Unable to work, plan for their future or return to their homes in safety. To create this series of videos, our team had to learn far more than we ever imagined, about the atrocities committed and the laws being used to fight for Rohingya justice. The wheels of justice turn slowly and there are a dizzying number of investigations and court cases hoping to bring the Rohingya a measure of justice. None of them will be quick and none of them are guaranteed. It's frustrating to work on a project without a clear resolution but we're so proud to have given the Rohingya people a voice - even in this small way. We hope these videos will help to empower them in their pursuit of justice. https://lnkd.in/dPSY8Fyn #rohingya #animation #videoproduction #justiceforall

Imagine 6 years in a refugee camp with no end in sight. Watch this video series we worked on summarising the Rohingya legal situation. It's just one small way to create awareness and to share about the work that people are doing across multiple fronts to make sure there is some form of justice. Let's not forget about the Rohingya and let's continue working towards justice for all. https://lnkd.in/g6_tvWE7

In 90 seconds see how over 12 million lives were trafficked. A must watch til the very end. Understanding why we campaign for Reparations means we must understand the fullness of this history. The transatlantic trafficking of enslaved Africans was the largest movement of people in history. This animation highlights the sheer volume of enslaved people being transported along certain slave routes over time. During the transatlantic trafficking of enslaved Africans, at least 2 million Africans — 10% to 15% — died during the “Middle Passage” across the Atlantic, and another 15% to 30% died during the march to or confinement along the coast. Altogether, for every 100 enslaved who reached the New World, another 40 died in Africa or during the Middle Passage. You can read more about the history of transatlantic slavery on Repair’s website. 🍇🌍 As a symbol of unity and support, this year every Vetropack employee will receive a bottle of the special 'Freedom Blend' produced by our customer Purcari Wineries Group, a Moldovan winery. A small way of thanking them for their tireless efforts in 2023. Located just 15 miles from the Ukrainian border, Purcari has turned its facilities into an emergency shelter for more than 5,000 refugees who have fled the war-torn regions. The 'Freedom Blend' is a testament to resilience, combining indigenous grape varieties from Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova, representing the spirit of freedom in these nations. This initiative is not only a demonstration of the power of collaboration, but also a means of contributing to the well-being of those affected. All proceeds from the sale of 'Freedom Blend' will directly support Ukrainian refugees. As of today, more than 150 000 EUR has been gathered, and it is aimed to provide access to education for children from the war affected regions in Ukraine, such as Kharkiv, Kherson, and Odessa. Let's continue to stand together and support initiatives like 'Freedom Blend' as a collective effort to provide essential aid to those displaced by the conflict. #Solidarity #Vetropack #FreedomBlend #StrongerTogether #Vetrofamily 🤝🍷

There are an estimated 4,734,000 returnees in Ukraine. The main oblasts of return are Kyiv City (where 22% of returnees reside), Kyivska, and Kharkivska oblasts (about 15% each), with most returnees having returned more than a year ago (66%). For nearly half of all returnees (48%), the location of last displacement was in another oblast within Ukraine. Just over a quarter of returnees (28%) had last been displaced within their oblast of origin. A further 24 per cent reported having returned from abroad. Priorities! This really puts things into perspective: "With the 165 Billion we gave to Ukraine, we could have built six border walls to stop illegal immigrants from pouring across our southern border. Could have fixed Flint's water system 215 times over easily. I like this one. Could have given every homeless vet $2 million. Holy shit. Could have given 50 million to every family impacted by the Maui wildfires. And they got $700. They got $700 each. We got to get our priorities straight, buddy." https://lnkd.in/efbsA2cc?
