Check out this Internet Safety Tip Series brought to you by NOWTX. NOWTX created this powerful initiative that is dedicated to keep our kids safe online. Tip#1 - Set Up Parental Controls InternetMatters.org provides full tutorials with screenshots to help you set up a safer internet for your loved one with special needs. The key players are Google, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, but they have an extensive list of tutorials. YouTube has a separate app with parental controls built-in to make the process easier. Make sure that GPS location services are switched off for phones, tablets, laptops, PC’s, and all social media channels. If you usually leave locations services on because you are concerned about your child, and the places they spend their offline time, the Kapersky safety app will track your child’s whereabouts without sharing it to other apps. There are also programs that will allow you to restrict usage to certain sites. For phones, there are a variety of apps but your phone provider could already have a solution. AT&T, for example, offers the Secure Family app. Verizon, T-Mobile (Family Allowances, Web Guard), and other cell phone carriers also have services available. *Information brought to you by: Stephen’s Place #StephensPlace #notonourwatch #nowtx #notonourwatchtx #onlinesaftey #raiseawareness #thepowerofnow #onlinepredators #protectourchildren #socialmediasafety #houstontx #houstonevents #onlinetrafficing #childsafety #twib #texaswomeninbusiness #protectouryouth #stoponlinepredators #digitalsafetynow #empowerourmoms #knowledgeispower #smartphonesafety #screentime #parentingtips #dailyparenting #parenthood #tech #parentsofinstagram #momofteens #parentingteens #childdevelopment

Digital Awareness Tips to Ensure Child Safety Online 🌐 At Optus, we believe in fostering a secure digital environment for families. In today's interconnected world, teaching children about online safety is crucial. Here are some tips to empower parents in safeguarding their children's online experiences: Educate on Online Safety: Equip your children with knowledge about the potential risks of the internet and the significance of responsible online behavior. Initiate conversations about cyberbullying, acceptable communication norms, and the importance of open communication with parents when they encounter uncomfortable situations online. Report Suspicious Activity: Encourage children to be vigilant and report any instances of cyberbullying or suspicious behavior online. Make them aware of the reporting mechanisms available on various platforms and emphasize the importance of seeking help from competent authorities when needed. Create Offline Time: It's essential to strike a balance between the digital and offline worlds. Allocate specific periods for unplugged activities that don't involve screens. Engaging in offline pursuits helps children develop a more well-rounded and balanced lifestyle. Remember, by instilling these practices, we contribute to creating a safer online space for our children. Together, let's build a secure and responsible online community. #DigitalAwareness #ChildSafetyOnline #OnlineSafety #DubaiTech #CyberSafety #DigitalWellness
